there are a lot of players who have great aim with needle guns! one time blaze beat me in mge as needle gun medic.

The needles are simply to slow to have any sort of consistency. They are about the same speed as uncharged stickies. I personally found the consistency of the crossbow drastically outweighs the damage potential of the needles at anything above mid open. That isn't even getting into the healing utility of the crossbow.

Lucrative was pretty damn good with needles and it took like 3 seasons and kuestiff agreeing to run booties to make him switch to crossbow.

To mention some people that weren't already mentioned, harbleu had pretty awesome needles along with TheFragile if I remember correctly. Also, of more recent times, I always thought lucrative had great needles despite it being past that weapon's time.

Man this thread is making me realize players who never played before the crossbow buff will probably never know the terror of missing your last rocket on the bomb and being completely helpless to the medic whipping out the needles. Good needle aim does an insane amount of damage as close range.
