The main reason I kept AdBlock enabled for TF2Center was to stop the really annoying background ads that would occasionally show up. (The ones that would cover the entire background behind the lobbies and other basic functions of the website and were so easy to accidentally click.)
I'm fine with sites advertising to make some small amount of revenue, but if ads are going to be invasive to my use of the site, ad blockers are going on.

I know deep down in my heart Warpy is responsible for this. The god damn child touching fund must grow.

rofl i like how they try to ban mentions of other services in an already tiny community
also, i think that is KevinIsPwn wants TF2Stadium to get more used again, you can try to team with tipofthehats and maybe have them play a few stadiums on stream that people can try and join, it would promote the service pretty well and hopefully it will stick

tf2stadium also has sub only lobbies so they could create lobbies with only toth subs can join

I like the idea of a weekly event trying populate tf2stadium. Although I must say I wished for the in-game matchmaking to replace these lobby websites, why Valve, why?

unsafeWindow.noAds = true;
Put that in a greasemonkey script and you can run adblock on tf2center without it redirecting you.

we should fully make the migration to tf2stadium
there the admins won't ban someone for 15 years just for having an opinion

A lot of the people that use tf2center don't use tftv and don't care about how shit it is. Advertising stadium on ugc forums might be better but idk how it works there

The problem is that we're not really the audience for lobby websites. If we want to play 6's, most of us would use ChampGG. The majority of TF2C users are HL users because it's the only website with HL PUGs.

Install browsec on your browser. It's been letting me play without getting redirected to the adblock page.

This works with Greasemonkey on Firefox but not with Tampermonkey on Chrome. What gives?

Generally I don't mind if they want to force ads on their page, the bit that gets me is that it's so untested and garbage that it still redirected me and it took me an hour of fiddling with various plugins and solutions to be able to play, despite that I had adblock disabled for their website the whole time.

TF2Center fucked up so many times and everybody still use that project? Really?
Maybe it's time to take thought on what project you should play?

when it redirects me to the addblock page I just remove the addblock from the link and type lobbies instead:
tf2center.com/lobbies
and it seems to work

unsafeWindow doesn't have the same access in Chrome as it does in Firefox.
Something like this should work in both :
// ==UserScript==
// @name tf2center allow adblock
// @namespace tf2center
// @version 1
// @match *://tf2center.com/*
// @grant none
// ==/UserScript==
function allowAdblock() {

}
function inject(func) {
var source = func.toString();
var script = document.createElement('script');
script.innerHTML = "("+ source +")()";
document.body.appendChild(script);
}
inject(allowAdblock);

If we are going to migrate to tf2stadium we should completely stop using tf2center even if tf2stadium is empty, or else we are just going to keep talking about it and it will never happen.

cant imagine narcissistic egoists would willingly go on a forum where their site gets repeated bashed on because that would mean they have to be receptive to criticism

Being able to receive hard criticism has to be impossible!

if a word can be spread inside tf2c that people are making a mass exodus to tf2s without everyone getting banned then everything would be great
but that's easier said than done unfortunately

the fix is to stop playing center

why does everyone advocate for stadium to be the replacement, faceit has some people on it at least, and there's the incentive to play for free stuff. I doubt people will go to stadium unless something crazy happens
