The season is drawing to a close for most, what with next week being the last match of the main season before play-offs. That's long enough to have an idea how the season's gone for you and your team.
We went in thinking we'd easily make open play-offs, only to be knocked flat on our butts after week 2 in matches and scrims (2 mid-season line-up shuffles and having one of our core players disappear possibly didn't help). But we've been getting better in the mean time and now we've found a new demo and, with a little luck in the form of a weak opponent that had been gifted 2 default wins, suddenly found that we can make playoffs if we take next week 6-0 (or possibly even 3-3 depending on how the rest of the table ends up).

Yeah but are you winning or losing because of that?

Had lots of issues in the beginning, however, during process week i feel like we have became alot stronger as a team.

Team pretty much died 2 weeks into the season,we got 3 forfeit losses before i was able to pick up 4 new players and continue the season.we are still doing pretty well though,at a win/loss ratio of 7/5 in open

5/13 wins have been ffws and it makes me sad every single time because people leave for one reason or another but alan shall win open with a clean 16-0

It was the first esea season for most of the team, so I was expecting low open. We ended up getting 7 wins in a row which was awesome, but we started losing to teams we should be relatively even with. I feel like we plateaued during metalworks week, and I don't see us getting a lot better now. There's a lot of stuff going on, and the team could use a better scout, so I think next season I'm just gonna take it easy and play with a no scrim HL team or something.

not on my watch friendo
on the topic of the thread i've learned that many of my teammates actually cannot play other classes for the life of them (wrech is nuts on demoknight but the rest of them... yikes)

At the start of the season I was gonna quit TF2 but figured I'd just go for one more tryout with a team that I'd scrimmed in the past and thought would be pretty low open. I'm not that good anyway and just figured I'd kinda look out for a chill experience, see if I could throw them pointers here and there, but goddamn it's been awesome. This team is really fun to play with and smashed my expectations of low open two weeks in. It's strange but it reminds me of the team I played with in iron; everyone is getting better really fast and just putting in the work; I really don't think it's a feeling that any game can replicate outside of TF2. The improvement is just so tangible between mechanical skill and team play, srsly godam midopen feelsgoodman
Unfortunately also like my iron team it's starting to feel like some of my teammates are now losing interest in the game as we reach the close of the season. Here's hoping we don't implode!

My 1st season of esea has taught me so much about this game :)

I played med this season cause i was still pretty shit at playing an actual dm class on my laptop
it's been pretty fun despite not fragging I thought it would be a lot worse tbh, although next season I'm totally playing scout again, 120hz is just a needless luxury anyway i'll be fine without it...

The team is 3 college roommates, and a engie man playing demo, for like 4 seasons, it's not going anywhere. Also its practically tradition to lose a scout at the season change now.

My first team died (may or may not have been my fault) and got picked up by a different team because they thought they needed a spot. So I play 2 matches, then find out I'm moving to sub because their original teammate (whom I thought I was replacing) came back.
Sadly this is my last season before leaving to pursue life and what an odd ride it has been.

I didn't have enough time to commit and had to drop out of the season. My team broke up 2 weeks afterwards.

I went from myself and 3 other IM capable players to an entirely different team when I wasn't ready for the deadline (thanks domthewhiteguy)
Then slowly over the course of the season my roster turned from doggos to the Le Sparkle Gang roster of the season, promptly following such a trend by going negative. I am the only person on the roster that's played every single match.
I'm not super bothered by it, I've been fond of most of the players I was introduced to playing with this season, we're not the worst roster in IM and I'm not playing Open either.

i got kicked for pointing out my teammates' mistakes 4 days before the season started. I guess not everyone can take criticism.

My team is a lovely group of fraggers, and I managed to find myself a low open team, since I got cut from iron after tryouts and I feel pretty good, and I feel that I improved somewhat.

I joined a team in the newbie mix team drive, Koalas In The Rain, for my first ESEA season.
We started off 0-4 but nobody was too discouraged, we all knew that this is what we'd signed up for, we could accept losing to better teams. Then, starting with a grueling 3-2 victory in game 5, we went on a 4 game winning streak. It felt incredible. All the work we put in before the season and during the first few weeks was really paying off.
So, up to a 4-4 record and it's Metalworks week. I guess we relaxed a bit too much going into these games... It's my biggest regret of the season. We didn't do our usual map review with our phenomenal mentor Tino, and we didn't fill up our regular scrim schedule... So we lost both our games that week, 3-4 and 2-5. I think we could've won both of them, but we weren't prepared and hadn't practiced enough- our opponents thoroughly deserved to beat us.
3 big losses on process and viaduct plus a forfeit win leave us at 5-9 so far, and I think there's a bit of frustration among the team that we let ourselves down.
It's all good, though! This has been probably my best ever experience in gaming so far. I'm so so lucky to have found a team so motivated, positive, and with such a will to learn and improve. Even if our results aren't showing it, I can see the improvement in myself and my teammates, and it feels great. Shout out to Tino for sharing his wealth of knowledge, shout out to Zinnk for carrying (seriously this dude's a ridiculous fragger), shout out to Mortar for offering me a spot on the team, shout out to our subs for always being there when we need them most, and shout out to the guys who run newbie mixes.
I love TF2 :)

First season in IM, we had a pretty shaky couple of weeks at the start being a last-minute team with a few roster changes, but picking up Smilez and Blues was a fantastic morale/DM boost. I really enjoy playing/being around everyone on my team, it's the most stable and enjoyable 6s environment I've ever medded in :) It's likely we'll end in 9th or 10th place in IM just short of playoffs, kind of sad the season is ending actually

We're currently third in prem after a relatively decent season, with close games vs the top teams.
Depending on A. how many we points we get next week and B. whether or not dogs wins vs top5, we'll probably be in playoffs

my team is 7-7 in open. 5 of our wins were ffws. I haven't played tf2 since 2011 and signing up this season was the worst drunken decision of my life by far.
