marmadukeGRYLLSB4nny i challenge you to a debate on the pros vs cons of allowing more unlocks and all that entails. We can keep it civil and do it on stream so all the peasants can be in the loop. Your move.

SnackI think we should just ban whatever gives a player/team an unfair advantage.
You can't gain an unfair advantage by using an item, because the other team can use it aswell.

it's called a stalemate weapon (don't know if it's the right term), which is forced the other team to use it as well, or they will have disadvantages

New weapons do not make the game any more fucking interesting. They make it so much less fun to play.
To put this into perspective, I would rather have completely vanilla 2007 tf2, no gunboats, no crossbow, no escape plan, than have to switch my entire loadout to counter some fuckwad on the other team. I would rather have a shotgun and a shovel. (And the old viewmodels, fuck you for changing them, Valve.)
Valve has not given a shit about us. They gave us matchmaking without taking into account what we wanted. I mean no harm to the dev team for MM, you did a good job for what you wanted for the casual community, which I have to imagine is the vast majority, but we want what we want. I agree entirely with the promod solution because Valve isn't going to budge. They have what they want with CS:GO and DOTA 2. We are just extra microtransaction money.
Also fuck you, b4nny. Stop blowing Valve, you are the front for our community, they listen to what you have to say about tf2, and I don't know if they're ignoring you, or if your vision just sucks.
ProMod. Revert sticky nerfs. Cut off from Valve. They have yet to do anything meaningful for this community.
Lange coded the MGEMod.
These people coded SOAPDM.
tsc made pugchamp/mixchamp happen.
Third party leagues such as ESEA, FACEIT, and UGC support competitive TF2, whereas Valve does not.
I want Valve to support TF2, but they aren't going to, so let's do this our way while we still fucking can.
Also, more than half of the unlocks in the rotation are so fucking bad that nobody would use them in any situation. How does this add any variety?
People are just going to flock to the best unlocks, there is no point in allowing more, especially when most of the bullshit ones are already allowed.

Why is this another future of tf2 garbage thread? All the naked chinese streamer asked was what weapons you want banned next season

The actual question/discussion posted in the OP isn't even worth talking about anymore in this thread. I had another thought instead of focusing on banning weapons and playing around gimmicks.
What would be the problem with introducing a script/setting specifically for 6's that restricts players picking off-classes until a certain criteria is achieved. Such as:
Players cannot switch to (Sniper, Heavy, Pyro) unless the 4th point is captured
Players cannot switch to (Engineer, Spy) unless the Mid Point is captured
Players cannot pick (Sniper, Heavy, Pyro, Spy, Engineer) at the start of any round
This would keep idiotic classes from being run to mid but allow those classes to be used for what they are intended, such as holding last or 2nd point.
It would also keep all players (especially new) focusing on their 6's classes instead of reverting to their pub roots and off-classing for no reason after a death.

I refuse to believe that one person can be this delusional so I'm assuming that this is one giant ruse and we're just being trolled.

I think this is a solid idea that if used correctly could work to reduce offclassing shenanigans in more serious games, but it still won't solve the weapon fiasco

wow.
I can't actually think of anyone I've met who acts more entitled than b4nny is right now
on a note slightly more related to the topic,
most of the weapons were banned because they were terribly designed for this game. Valve has proven many times they have no idea what makes tf2 fun (demo nerf, med update, scouts, gunboats, badlands, ettcccc). If comp tf2 was in its current state when I started playing, I would not play it.
The current number of items that are unbanned is quite significantly too large. weapons like the rescue ranger, natascha, tomislav, sandwich, machina, jarate all do a little small part in "slowing down the game" and making lasts even harder to push and rewarding the "b4nny" playstyle of just waiting for your opponent to fuck up when it clearly shouldn't be in addition to just being plain, boring, uninteresting weapons. on a quick note: variety != good/fun design
I will also say that if there is no whitelist next season or it gets smaller, I have no doubt the people I plan to play with next season will want to play even less.
The only reason people play this game now is for fun, no one really cares whether or not "tf2 becomes big" obviously there is an exception with b4nny who seems to think because he's so damn good at this game he should get paid just like other people who have mastered their game/trade.
news flash: world don't work like that

I have never said anything about being entitled to being paid to play TF2. In fact that's what everyone else is seemingly demanding. I'd have as much to gain if not more than everyone else if I quit for OW too. For entitled please read below:
FUNKeThe fact that your completely fair and logical conclusion with reasonable weight to its merit is still perceived as optimistic at best and not actually feasible just shows how great of a job valve has done at keeping the communities trust
I'm willing to believe that doing this all would pay off in half a year (oh nevermind even more haha) but the fact that there's no transparency of what actually has impact on updates unless we have a middleman explain it (as you seem to be doing) just shows how seemingly disconnected valve is from the competitive community as a whole, which can make being open to change as the ones slin suggests extremely difficult because it's banking on putting all your trust into a company that has let me down so many times in the past year, and I imagine many other people feel the same way.
