I cycle through weapons both forwards and backwards. It gets confusing sometimes, but helps with classes that have multiple commonly used weapons, such as demoman.

I use my side mouse buttons for primary and secondary, and mouse3 for my melee. i used to use 1, 2 and 3 keys but they interfere with each other (you can't press 3 and d keys at the same time for example)
