Everyone seems to hate pyro but the real enemy is engie.
Honestly fuck sentries they're the reason last stalemates are so boring and they take literally 0 skill so it's boring as fuck to use too.
There are some cool mechanics on engie though so I wonder if it'd be feasible to only allow the gunslinger in leagues. I'd genuinely be interested in feedback from league admins on this.

also what makes me so angry about engineer is that it has the blueprints to be the coolest fucking class
imagine you get rid of sentries altogether and your buildings instant-build (and you dont have to upgrade them) so you could use them in combat. obviously the current buildings wouldnt be that useful in combat but theres so many things you could add that would be.
imagine some kind of jump pad that you could place down in the middle of a fight for some cool movement, you could even put them on walls for pinging from wall to wall. what if your enemies could use them too so you could just launch people away who get too close.
what about some kind of energy shield you could drop down like winston in overwatch (i think?) that lasts for a couple of seconds that could get you through a chokepoint. what about two-way teleports that let you manoeuvre your team quickly around the map. idk im just listing off ideas as i go im sure theres some really interesting stuff you could add that would make "engineer main" not seem like a joke
please mr valve make engineer not shit

how about a throwable consumable like the gas passer that when thrown it builds a big fort with bouncy tyres and shit at the bottom

Ive been saying this shit for years u could make engie a legit good support class if it wasnt entirely about sentry guns

What if you just let the engie build walls and ramps, with no sentries, dispensers, or teleporters, and let him equip every weapon, except now you have to find weapons scattered across the map. You'd probably have to make a bigger map though, maybe some kind of mechanic where areas of the map get cut off over time could be implemented.
It would probably be popular enough that you could have big free-for-all servers.
Fortnite.

give engis fortnite wall traps that hit u for 150 if u dont shoot it down
Ok This Update Better be Badass And Every Class Should Be Able To Do Something To Truly Help Out The Team Heres My Idea.
Scout: He Can Obviously Jump Onto The Train With Much Ease
Soilder: Rocket Jump Onto The Train
Pyro: Airblast People Off The Train
Heavy: I Think You Know What the Heavy Does
Engie: Instead Of Creating Sentries He Makes Train Security. Train Turrets
Demo: Sets Traps On Train
Sniper: This One Is Hard. Nut I Think I Got It. Look At The Trailer Again, WhatDoes The Sniper Do? He Drives The Truck. That Is What The Sniper Does.
Medic: Be A Medic
Spy: Instead Of Sapping The Train Defenses He Hacks Them And Makes Them Fight For His Team
3 Outposts The Train Stops To Refuel. The Whole Match Lasts 10:00. The Train Stops At The Outposts For 2:00 Each. If RED Can Hold the train Until 10:00 Is Up It Will Blow Up Before Reaching RED Base. If BLU can Get Train To RED Base Without It Ever Stopping (Besides The Outposts) The Whole Blu Team Gets One Item. Tell Me Wat U Guys Think.

Taking the bait

How is that hold not cool?
Btw problem is not the class but it's the maps. There is this idea that last should be holdable to start with. What about a map that plays like basketball/handball where the attacking team is expected to score, but when it does not, it's an upset?
Just look at how starcraft maps evolved over 20 years, vs how TF2 maps evolved over 10.

yahooso many ppl getting baited
if you mean me, no this isnt a bait

engineer is a perfectly engaging and skill based class, it just requires a high amount of intelligence, teamwork, and passion to truly unlock his potential. Much like people theorize that the skill ceiling on sniper is so high that only hackers can ever reach it, engineer has a skill ceiling so high that you must be a multi dimensional being to attain enlightenment. There hasn't been someone to reach such a level yet, but when one of us ascends to heights others can only dream of, then we will truly know the power of mechanical superiority.

Engineer in its current state is fine, except for rr, wrangler, short circuit and frontier justice, 3 of which we ban anyway. I don't think giving engy gimmicky abilities to make him useful all the time is a good idea nor would it even work cause at the end of the day he is tied weakest combat class with spy. His utility would have to be crazy to be worth running full-time or just a lot, and utility in a game like tf2 tends to be annoying and trash or annoying and op, like airblast.
tl;dr no lol (at least imo!!!)

How about some cheap disposable units that can be quickly knocked up to fix this country's severe housing crisis.
i went off on a tangent there that wasnt really the point, i just feel like sentries make 6s worse in almost all scenarios they are used (you can probably count all the interesting uses of sentries at top level play on 1 hand)
you cant sac or trade against a good team if they have a well-placed gun, so you have to spend time co-ordinating to take it down first and it can be a real pain sometimes. it can be especially annoying if you take it down and it starts going up again by the time your players are healthy
yeah you can play around the enemy team having a sentry, my point is that it slows down the game

Engineer should be able to expend his full metal count (200) to construct a 450 health mechsuit (cannot be overhealed, has 2 tomislav guns on each arm)
If Fortnite Can Have John Wick Team Fortress Two Should Have Tony Stark
Engineer class is not the problem. The way you look and play the game is the problem.
Engineer was never made for 6v6 CP play and has no true role to this day other than a distraction for ppl to waste ammo on whern pushing last.
Engineer was designed for 8v8 or 9v9 CTF play since he is a full defensive class. His job is defending a flag, period.
Coming from someone who played that role for most of my old TF career, it was my funnest class to play and very rewarding.
TF2 destroyed that role with exceedingly long respawn times, slow gameplay and idiotic uber invulnerability made the engineer transition from the original design to what we have now. If you really factor in everything, the engineer class has suffered more than any other from its initial concept.

rename them to turrets boom problem solved no more sentries
also give engi shotgun +100 damage because he doesn't have sentries anymore

Might removing sentries have the effect of teams being more reluctant to push out of last? The ability to have a scout swap to engineer and throw up a gun acts as insurance against a failed push out. Of course, this isn't something one thinks about when pushing out, but as teams get punished for pushing out a bit more, it seems to me that over time they will be slightly more reluctant to make the attempt. Might this not also have the effect of prolonging last stalemates?
I don't claim any expert knowledge; this is merely a hypothesis for you more experienced fellows to examine, then affirm or refute.

StylaxHow about some cheap disposable units that can be quickly knocked up to fix this country's severe housing crisis.
The housing crisis isn't due to a lack of houses, it's due to those houses not being properly distributed to the people in need of them because the system is flawed.

Everyone seems to hate engi but the real enemy is medic.
Honestly fuck ubers they're the reason last stalemates are so boring and they take literally 0 skill so it's boring as fuck to use too.
There are some cool mechanics on medic though so I wonder if it'd be feasible to only allow the vaccinator in leagues. I'd genuinely be interested in feedback from league admins on this.
