updated to 8.0.0 and still having issues with demo recording. (looks like this https://youtu.be/PZjgq08DEZ8 )
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/565171182416953344/643993059737993216/my_config.7z
i tried the new lower net_splitpacket_maxrate, and it didn't fix it, so i matched the rate like you said in this thread
i tried cl_smooth 1, and it didn't fix it

as an aside, do you recommend net_maxcleartime 0.015 or .06? because the value from that thread and your config are different (i have very good internet if it matters)

I will keep trying to see what's causing it. Could you try recording and playing back with snapshots=lan

In mastercomfig 8, it was raised from 0.015 to 0.06 to be less strict/demanding. It could probably be reduced back to 0.015 on good networks.

didn't work sadly, i'll keep you updated if I ever manage to fix it
turns out it even happens on a stock install of tf2, guess it's gonna be rough figuring it out

Is there anyway to figure out what options affect the GPU or CPU? So like turning on shadows affects GPU more than CPU so turning it on would not affect fps as much as long as your GPU is not maxed out. I was wondering because i would really like to try and customize a config based on my personal computer and not for a general range of computers.

Why is m_filter 1 set in flatmouse.vpk? What does it even do? I remember needing to disable it manually a while back because it was causing some weird tracking issues, but I think that might have been due to a particular buggy windows update (I just re-enabled m_filter today, and it feels fine).

you can see what tf_hud_notification_duration 0 disables here: https://github.com/SteamDatabase/GameTracking-TF2/tree/master/tf/tf2_misc_dir/resource/ui/notifications, except for how to control ghost, how to control kar, how to control ghost no respawn, competitive GC down, notify truce start, notify truce end

Im using a dualcore PC currently because reasons
¿Should I disable any multithreaded/queued stuff or change mat_queue_mode to something specific to get better frames? I know most configs recommend either 2 or -1 (autodetect)

nope, I don't think it's needed anymore

It's looking like mastercomfig 8.2.2 will be the last release for a while, given its stability and near full coverage of the game.

mastercomssmziscreenshots pls
I've added that to the readme. Might move it to the wiki once I get more up.

Edit: moved to wiki.

hello sir
i would like to say that your config helped me a lot but i have a serious problem with it
i recently installed the mastercomfig low but i didnt know it would remove the hats from the game so i decided to delete it by deleting "custom" and "cfg" folder and disabled the steam cloud sync.....i even followed your instruction on how to remove it. then it removed all the effects of the mod(low textures...etc) exept that i still cant see any hat even the "custom" folder is still empty and the "cfg" folder is the default one
i followed many tutorials to reset tf2 to default but this no hat mod is still here even if i cant see any file related to it
hope you can help with that issue...
have a good day :D

is it worth continually replacing my current cfg with your new versions? what do "performance improvements" actually entail most of the time? are there significant increases in fps?

hello, how can i get certain weapon viewmodels back after installing the 'badgpu-addon' and 'very-low-preset' vpks?
my per-class configs worked fine untill i added these vpks to my custom folder, is there something in them that completely disables all viewmodels?

Air_is it worth continually replacing my current cfg with your new versions? what do "performance improvements" actually entail most of the time? are there significant increases in fps?

The point of how mastercomfig is set up should make it just a simple drag and drop to update, and with good reason with the updates that come out frequently. Performance impeovements depend but of course they add up. I would say they're worth it. I'm not updating the config for no reason.

Did you move your class configs to a new user folder? Also, set viewmodel_fov and r_drawviewmodel 1 to enable viewmodels.

You can also just type "setinfo mm_override" in the config file to make it easier to access.

Don't know if this is relevant, but I've messed around with the launch option: -r_emulate_gl and my game seems to render particles way faster than if it were to not have the option in the first place. I don't quite know everything about the command, but it seems to (not fully sure) render particles in a way that makes it seem as if its rendering on a different part of TF2 itself, but still rendering them nonetheless, it seems to speed up alt-tabbing between programs under fullscreen (depending on window scaling, for example using the same window size as your monitor makes alt-tabbing a breeze), and some HUD elements seem to render slightly better (in terms of performance and quality).

Again, I haven't tested everything but it seems to help DirectX run the base game (models, the world, and some HUD elements) normally and then let OpenGL render the rest.
