#28 No more camwhores on twitch in Off Topic
lemon_pulpWhile thinking this way is admirable, you have to remember Twitch is a business and is run as one. Considering the idea of streaming content with a lower age demographic, you can't have any grey areas when it comes to anything remotely sexual or provocative.

It may have a low age demographic, but that kind of goes out the window when you go into a stream and see people constantly talking about smoking weed (TheOriginalWeed) or swearing (most streams I go to) or drinking (some streams. Also happened at i52.) Or "fucking pools of nerd semen."

#3 textures not loading? in Q/A Help

I tried taking your advice by making my own server and running it. The game ran my flat world textures on my own server on all sv_pure settings up to 2, which is normal, afaik. So I went into a Valve server, and my textures stopped working again. I typed sv_pure in console to see what turned up, and the server was set to sv_pure 1. So, it seems that particular setting is NOT what's affecting the textures. Any other ideas?

#1 textures not loading? in Q/A Help

Recently, I got the Quake textures/Flat world textures just because I think they look cool and I hear it gives a slight FPS boost. However, since I've installed it, it seems to work selectively. I went to a valve server yesterday to test it, and it worked, and then I went to another valve server later and it didn't work. It seems to alternate when it does and doesn't want to work.

This is also an issue for a custom skin I installed for the snipers SMG. It ALSO seems to randomly decide when it wants to work. Both are in my custom folder, the same place I put my HUD. Any suggestions?

#7 Froyotech shirt? in Off Topic
shadeJust making sure everyone understood that lol.

It was frustrating on our end too because we have absolutely no idea where some of the shirts went. They were shipped and did not get sent back but some of those same orders people say they did not receive. I had my buddy doing the shirt create a twitter account specifically for any order problems from now on.

If you ever have any issue send a tweet to https://twitter.com/froyoorders

And he will immediately take a look into it. We are in the process of re-working the backend on the site away from Woocommerce to something he is more familiar with so he can go in and take care of the orders himself rather than me having to have it forward to him individually.

Overall, prior to this we were not sure how everything was going to go which is why I have done little to no advertising for the site since the initial push because I want to work out all the kinks before we start up marketing the site again or pushing a bunch of new products.

Thanks again for your patience everyone. If you ever need a direct method of contacting me I have my twitter account linked to my phone so I see any notifications pop up right away www.twitter.com/froyotech

Well, like I said, thanks much for the quick response and everything. Hopefully everything gets sorted.

#5 Froyotech shirt? in Off Topic
shadeKaidus made a fake chat log.

All the shirts are being handled by a shirt company. The first batch of orders were delivered through USPS which royally ruined half of the orders and sent some of the packages to God knows where.

If you have ordered a shirt and have no got it email this email and give him your order number and name...

tbogle245@gmail.com

We have switched to UPS which provides us with accurate tracking codes to monitor all orders now. The amount of orders was surprising more than expected which caused a lot of problems with shipping.

Every order will be taken care of whether it be we re-ship the shirts or issue you a refund. It's entirely up to you.

I was aware he made a fake. Otherwise, my response wouldn't have been so carefree. Thanks for responding promptly to the thread, I appriciate it. (And I'm not gunna ask for a refund. I want my damned shirt :p)

#3 How long have you been around? in Off Topic
bassheadLulzy two years of competitive XBOX TF2
you must be insane

I would be if it weren't for the fact that the people there told me about 3 times a day that I wasn't dreaming. All we played was Granary and Gravel Pit.

EDIT: You may not believe us. But after PUGs and scrims, we would actually be able to find servers full enough for us to legitimately pub-stomp.

EDIT 2: If I remember correctly, quite a few of those players ALSO play PC TF2, and do so with a game pad.

#1 How long have you been around? in Off Topic

I made this thread with the intent to see how long a few of you have been around, see how you found out about competitive tf2, and if you've been playing competitively, how long?

Here's an example:

How long have I been "around": I've been actually watching the competitive scene of this game for a while. I stumbled along the eMg vs coL ESEA finals from one of the earlier seasons. I think that was about 5 years ago. So I would've been 12 or so. (I didn't own the game though. But watching that match was the first experience I had with tf2 and made me want the game.)

How I found out about comp tf2: See above

How long I play competitively: My first season was actually the summer season of UGC. But I've been in a few PUGS and stuff.

(I actually played about two years of competitive XBOX TF2 when my PC was busted.)

#1 Froyotech shirt? in Off Topic

Hi. So basically, the issue I'm having is that 3 weeks ago tomorrow, I ordered a FROYOtech shirt. So far, it still hasn't shown up at my house. I checked the conformation e-mail I got and my address, zip code, and everything else is correct. I tried emailing Shade himself and also tried the "Contact Us" tab on the Froyotech website. I'm frankly getting kinda worried.

Has anybody else ordered a shirt from that website and not gotten it yet? I mean, I DID get my name added to the back of the shirt (because why not.) so maybe the extra customization makes it take longer?

Yeah. I'm a steel scout myself, and I can tell you that everybody above me is 100% correct. Right now, you're better off worrying about DM and aim. I did add you though so we can MGE and dm and stuff, since mgeing somebody at around your level generally helps you improve better than mgeing somebody way below or way above.

#88 TF2GAMES in The Dumpster
TF2GamesLulzyOkay, so, I generally don't reply to topics like this. In fact, I hardly reply to topics at all and just watch the forums, but here goes:

This is extremely fishy, as most others here have said. First off. 5000 servers have got to to cost an ASTRONOMICAL amount to keep up and running properly on a daily basis, and unless you're some sort of football-playing-king-in-space, I fail to see how you can have that much money just lying around to spend on a video game without expecting anything in return. Not to mention the 26(?) mumble servers you have around the world, which is a bit of overkill if you ask me, considering how you can have a MASSIVE amount of people shoved into one single root mumble, with many others in small channels. (TF2Centers mumble system.) Furthermore, you have NOT provided anything in regards to who YOU are or who your team is, despite this being the most requested thing of you is to just give us some form of identification.

I've been watching this thread since it started because it seemed like you really wanted to help us out and do this for us, since then, I've been severely dissappointed, because you've replied to nothing except for the posts saying that you're being sketchy, and when you do reply, it's either evasive or downright hostile. Like when Lange asked a simple question of asking you for a portfolio to show us your past projects, you dodged the question. And when he replied, you didn't.

I also decided to do some kind of research and look through your friends list, I figured since you have so many people on your team and if you guys are so proud of this project, they'd atleast follow your example and put the TF2G tag in their name, similar to how the ESEA and CEVO admins do. However, you're the only person who has such a tag, and nobody in your friends list as one either. While this likely may not be anything significant, it could also mean one of two things. 1) That you HAVE no team. Or 2) that you're team really doesn't give two shits about this project.

Just in case TL;DR. You're being evasive vague and you aren't answering our questions. Your team seems to be missing. You claim to have way more servers than you need, but haven't specified how they'd be fixed if an issue arises. Generally untrustworthy.
FYI most of team doesn't use Steam publicly. They either have hidden profiles or they are not using it at all.
Me and another person from the team is responsible for Steam group and answering to questions. The problem is that you don't know how things go here, so it's really difficult to chat with you about this.
But each person is dedicated to specific job. That's all I can say.

That in and of itself is an issue. If most of your team doesn't use steam, then most of your team also doesn't play TF2, unless they play XBOX or PS3. So then how in the hell do you expect any of them to know what to do? Not to mention the fact that you claimed that you and a bunch of friends managed to program a bit after YEARS, so then where are those guys? I guess they don't use steam either and just magically know how to program a TF2 bot? Also, you say you can't talk to us because we don't understand how things work, but the only reason we don't understand is because YOU haven't told us how it works. And also, where is this OTHER person whose supposed to help answer questions? Maybe he or she won't be as cryptic as you are.
