So all the people downloading the map at the last minute have made Dropbox completely ban access to my public links, which means everything that uses my dropbox to display (i.e. screenshots) is now disabled.
I hope you can put together alternate ways to download the map because I'm afraid I don't think I'll be able to continue hosting the download for the maps. I need my public images to be able to be accessed and the sheer amount of downloads the community has had for sunshine kinda disabled that.
So any alternate download links are appreciated. I know they probably exist, but it would help to have the links here so I can attach them to the OP.
Cheers, and next time please download the map in advance. Who knows if they'll be a "next time" though, I'm really afraid if this happens again then Dropbox will perma-disable my public links, or something like that. Ugh.

For UGC, ETF2L, and any other league that wants to update. A bit of an awkwardly timed update, but it needed to happen.

There are tons of tiny changes and I don't have a full list of them, but the biggest ones are tons of visual fixes, clipping fixes, and I added nobuilds on parts of the map.
Nothing major has been changed, so gameplay will be 99% the same. It was majorly a version update to add the nobuilds for Highlander, and I took it upon myself to bugfix as well. Sorry if this ends up being confusing. I really needed to update.
If this version is broken, PLEASE tell me ASAP as I kind of rushed it out. I'll fix it immediately.

for the map prop glitches I don't know what to tell you, restart tf2 or something, I don't know if there is really anything I can do map-wise to fix those occasional glitches.
SideshowBig thing that currently bothers me about this map is how many things eat my splash damage. I don't mean stairs or stuff, it's like doorframes and plantpots and shit that literally like to feast on my rockets. Is it possible to just put an invisible layer over them all whilst still keeping the aesthetics the same?

I can put an invisible layer over everything like that as long as people are ok with seeing floating stickybombs that are sticking to wherever the invisible layer is, I guess

Jarrett000The idea of playing Sunshine in Highlander has been played around a little bit, and it'd be cool if these spots could be made no-build in the next version.
Can do, but unless Highlander play is imminent I don't think I can update to RC5 until the ESEA season is over. Stress and life and work and yeah. I'll definitely do that for RC5 once I update though.

Feel free to nitpick for bugs but keep in mind I won't be doing a recompile/new version unless there are game breaking exploits or if the framerates are subpar. Hopefully neither of those exist and the map can hold its own for awhile.

Compile finally completed without errors and spat out a very polished and playable version of the map. FPS looks to be around where it was in rc1a, with significantly better rendering optimization than rc3 had. Lighting looks better in a great majority of spots (of course there are lighting errors here and there but that's the source engine for ya). Clipping is fixed all around and the map is much more polished in general.
Expect RC4 to be out very shortly. I'll do some in-house private tests before I release it to make sure the map has no bugs and that it is suitable for release. I really look forward to seeing it played in ESEA S18.

A lot of shitty stuff has been happening to me + with really bad depression and stress I haven't had the mental energy to go back on Steam yet.
But I promise. You'll all have a good, well-running version of Sunshine out very soon. I just need to polish it off and compile it. It should be a couple more days, max. It's leagues better than rc2 and comparing it to rc1a is ridiculous. It'd better be changed in the map rotation once it's out. RC4 is/will be so much better.
There's a reason this happens so often. It's not the most efficient method at all and it's a surprise any new maps at all are ever voted in!
From my counting there's a total of 88 votes in the first poll. (I might be off a little)
25 of those 88 were for Granary (about 28% of the total votes.)
That pretty much means that only 28% of people actually want Granary out. It's pretty obvious that's skewed already. The even bigger part is that with the second poll, you're providing replacements that (for the most part) only people who want Granary replaced will vote on.
So you're basically splintering the group that's already a minority into three more subgroups, while keeping the majority vote as the same size majority. There's no way Granary will be replaced this poll.
A better method would be to actually reveal the replacement maps FIRST, run a poll on which one people like more FIRST, and THEN run a poll to see if there's a map in the old rotation people would want to switch out for the specific (and singularly chosen) new map. Cause if we do it the way we're doing now, there's no real way things will change unless one specific map is hated by a vast majority of people.
(I'm not saying that we need to switch up the map poll by any means or that Granary needs to be replaced - I like the map rotation as it is already. I just think the way we're currently voting out maps is incredibly inefficient.)
