I have a traditional computer desk that has a pull out tray where you put your mouse/keyboard. Needless to say I kept bumping my mouse into my keyboard so playing with the keyboard on my lap was the cheapest alternative. The way I play is I don't use my arm resters on me chair and obviously lean forward a little. Got neck/arm aches for the first week but you get use to it.

All of this confusion could have been avoided if you wrote out "help hooey" and at the top of the OP write out NOT HUEY LEWIS AKA DREW CAREY in big bold lettering.
