If you want cheaper options, then you should have a look at Coolermaster's Quickfire series. If you have a bigger budget, you can get a Ducky Shine or a Filco Majestouch, which are both pretty top-tier boards.

@kirby I'm using one of these - the Leopold FC750R. It feels nice with the added bonus of the key labels on the front side of the key (not top), so there is definitely no chance of them fading from use.

It's tenkeyless, so dunno if that's what you want. Probably more on the expensive side, but I'm happy with the purchase.

Has anyone here moved to a mechanical from a Microsoft Sidewinder? I love my Sidewinder but I think it's time to get into the mechanical side and idk what switches to get

If possible I'd like a 60% w/arrow keys if anyone has an idea

I used to use the sidewinder x4 and moved to brown switches, they feel pretty similar

I recommend ducky

fc660m, it's a mech with arrow keys and a 60% layout, it's very nice and I use one personally and I could say it is better than my ducky mini in everyway.

basically what hpqoeu said.
typically, laser etched lasts way longer. pad-printing is generally considered the weakest type of printing.
i can imagine that Leopold uses better-than-average printing, but i think you can expect your WASD keys to start fading after a few weeks, or a few months if you're lucky.

I'm looking for a minimalistic TKL RGB keyboard with a nordic layout. Something, visually, similar to this: http://des.gearbest.com/uploads/2015...0959323367.jpg
Could anyone help me out? RGB isn't super important but it would be nice to have.

https://www.massdrop.com/buy/kc64-mechanical-keyboard

does anybody know anything extra about this keyboard that isn't on the webpage? I'm sorely tempted given the price and listed specs

there's mention of it apparently having non standard stagger, but i'm not sure if that should bother me or not

That looks like a really good pickup. I bet it'll take a long time to get used to though. It took me a long time to adjust from TKL to 60% and then I went back to TKL.

The left shift is smaller than the original left shift. It's 2u compared to 2.25u. Right shift is 1u as well. The bottom right area seems kind of strange. I would definitely not be able to get used to that. It would also make customizing keys a pain, because you'll need to get a 2u key for row 3, which is probably not common in DCS. The two shifts would definitely break the deal for me.

I think the non-standard stagger will put you off for a minute or so, but then your hands will probably adjust to it very fast. On laptop keyboards and such, I find myself messing up keys for only 5 minutes or so and then getting used to how they are staggered.

If those are all dealbreakers you can probably just get a KBP v60 off of mechanicalkeyboards.com. I have a KBP v60 as well, and I would recommend it. I had a Quickfire TK beforehand, and I got used to the layout pretty fast. Only took me about a week, but it's 40 dollars more than the KC64.

For 60 USD this isn't too bad. However every once in a while Massdrop has the v60, and it's only about 15 dollars more than the KC64. I would definitely go for that instead of this.

Thanks for the advice, now I'm not super set on a certain sized keyboard, and in fact TKL size is also looking good for me, really all I'm looking for is an affordable mech kb that won't fail easily on me.

So I was considering this instead, same price, more orthodox layout

https://www.massdrop.com/buy/team-wolf-tkl-swappable-switch-mechanical-keyboard

i'd rather not have to wait for the v60, and I would probably miss dedicated arrow keys

Yeah I would go for that keyboard. There are no red flags there, other than the fact that it's not using Gaterons or Cherry MX switches - but you can easily swap them out if the Outemu switches bother you. The swappable switches and backlights are a nice bonus as well.

Edit:

I would also consider the Magicforce as well. It's a 60 key layout with arrow keys and insert/delete/pageup/pagedown without messing with the bottom row. It's also very cheap all the time. I believe the one I linked below has Kailh Blacks.

Outemus are really loud (afaik louder than mx blues)

Also u should consider 68% layouts if arrow keys are necessary

CM Storm QuickFire Rapid TKL with Brown Switches for about $75. Cooler Master makes great keyboards so this should be a good fit for what you need.

Also, speaking of Cooler Master, they're doing a giveaway of a CM MasterKeys Pro L with special clear switches and keycaps if anyone is interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/543nr5/giveaway_win_the_special_edition_masterkeys_pro_l/d7ylv09

Anyone have experience with this keyboard?
https://www.amazon.com/LINGBAO-JIGUANSHI-Mechanical-Keyboard-Computer/dp/B01EW9X01U/

looked into reviews and it seems pretty good for a budget keyboard. Considering this one and the Qisan Mechanical as a replacement for mine. If you have any recommendations under 50$ let me know.

Plugable fullsized if you like extremely clicky switches (outemu blues are very loud, and also the only outemu switch that's any good) and is well under budget.

Magicforce fullsized with gateron switches of your choice if you don't like extremely loud clickiness.

Whitefox Mechanical Keyboard

If anyone has a budget on the larger side take a look at this keyboard.

Unique 65% layout, dye-subliminated pbt keycaps, fully programmable with a fairly easy to use configurator, and halo true switches which are a mechanical switch made specifically for this keyboard that mimic the feel of topre switches.

If you have a soldering iron you can get a kit for the keyboard if you're into that.

I have a whitefox with browns and another with blues. I fucking love them but at least with the 2 massdrop runs it took a very long time to receive the keyboards. If you are looking for a top quality 65 percent board with an arrow cluster and you are willing to potentially wait a while this thing is incredible.
