I've always loved music. I learned piano at a young age then went on to learn trumpet and tuba through school. Since then I have taught myself the bass, trombone, saxophone, and some drums. I have a lot of fun just screwing around with instruments and the self learning process has made picking up new instruments very fun and easy.
As far as academic interests go I've always been a math and science guy so I first went into engineering. However, as the years have gone on I have found a love of accounting. It always sounds like a really boring area but I really enjoy working on a managerial level and analyzing businesses. I'm currently planning on going back to school to work on a masters/CPA this spring and I'm really excited to get started.

Academically: I love communication and science, astronomy and cosmology to be exact. Communication because I think its fascinating to see the different ways humans communicate with each other, and the norms within communication. Also the differences between how men and women communicate is interesting, and how they act differently during given situations. Also, finding norms and patterns in communication on social networks is very fascinating to me. As for astronomy and cosmology, well, the universe is just fucking awesome. It's incredible what all is out there, and its quite saddening that we will hardly get to explore it in this generation. I could talk for hours on this topic.
Personally: I love tennis. Was a beast of a tennis player through highschool. Played in a national tournament, as well as some other high level tournaments. Could have played NCAA D2 tennis at my school, but got lazy and just wanted to focus on school work. Though I still get out and play from time to time. I also love broadcasting, and want to make it a future career if possible (sports broadcasting). If not, I have backup plans since its a tough industry. But I have a radio show at my college radio station, and I will also be broadcasting some of my schools ice hockey games this year, as well as basketball possibly.

I'm still not completely sure what I want to do as a career yet, but I do know I have a strong interest in engineering, and would like to major in some form of it in College. My school has some great engineering electives as well as awesome math teachers, so that kinda stuff is fun for me.
Probably my biggest activity outside of school is robotics. I'm an officer in our club as well as a captain of a team, and for the stupid amount of work it is, it's a ton of fun. Our club does a lot of fun projects as well as competing in VRC tournaments every year. It's a great way to learn hard work, important engineering skills, and how to be part of a team. There's something really cool about having people that are just as passionate about something as you. One of my favorite memories will still be going to Worlds and getting to interact with over 400 high school teams of people with similar interests and hobbies. The fact that going about five days with zero sleep, working the entire time, is one of my favorite memories shows how much fun it was.
I also volunteer at my local wildlife museum on the weekends. I used to play sports more often, but these days all I have time for is running and the occasional bit of tennis with friends.

I enjoy tf2 and writing a history thesis. And this thread is my name which is cool.

Academic: I've gotten really interested in computer science -- particularly development of desktop and mobile programs, although I haven't done too much to build upon that interest outside of Codecademy. I will be taking a computer programming class as soon as possible.
Non-academic: Writing. I've started writing for GosuGamers' CS:GO section last week. I've only proofread and heavily edited a few articles so far but I'll be writing a full feature soon.

Ahh thesis writing - one of the best couple days in my life. A bottle of wine, 362 note cards, and 12 hours of typing lol.

Guitar, drums, songwriting, anime, punk, and math rock.
One thing I wanna do soon is buy some drum mics so I can record some stuff with a full band. So far I have 2 ideas on what to record. The first is satirical social justice warrior hardcore and the second is a halloween themed spooky horror punk sort of thing

Men's fashion, headphones, marching band, and golf.
My sister got me into fashion in general, I got myself into men's fashion.
I needed new headphones one day and found myself massively interested in the technology that comes in the high end product .
Golf is pretty much the only sport I can do because of all my arthritis. (I'm 17)

Oh man you did it all at once? My professors are forcing us to do it in chunks to avoid the pain lol. Tougher man (woman?) than I.

The rough draft was do the last month of senior year. Thus, I waited until the weekend before to write a rough draft. The final paper was due the last day of classes, then the following week we all met at a profs house and got drunk (those of us whose theses were approved).

Make sure you pick up some SM57's! For the price, it's hard to find any mic that beats its quality and versatility. It's used on so many professionally engineered metal/indie/punk/emo/alt rock records for miking toms, so in other words, it's the real deal. Also can work well on the snare, depending how solid the tone is to begin with, but for a tight budget, also likely your best bet. Best of luck, mixing recordings from drums that have been miked properly sounds like a ton of fun!
Edit: Oops, forgotten to mention they're great for miking a cabinet when working with guitar tracks. You see this all the time on plenty of high quality albums as well.

Also Belgian abbey beers/Tripel beers. For anyone who wants to try good beers, check if they have Tripel Karmeliet, Leffe Royal, Brugze Zot or Westmalle Dubbel/Tripel somewhere near where you live. They're stronger than "normal" beers of course but they actually taste nice. I've met people who say beer is shit but all they've had is Heineken (ugh) or Budweiser...

vibpMaths, especially, Complex Analysis. The branch unifies many topics in Mathematics, like exponentials and trigonometric functions (Euler's formula), it also is a nice tool for people working on some really hard integrals (contour integration is almost like witchcraft: example), number theory, etc. Except that, I find asymptotics and computational complexity to be quite nice.
Holy shit that's awesome
I dont understand a word though haha
Also this thread is pretty cool, really interesting to read
