yeah you don't know what you're talking about. you don't have to inject external cheats either, how come they get detected?

color triggerbots are highly inefficient and to use one with a margin of success you need an internal pure bypasser. why go through the hassle of using a bad, inaccurate, slow triggerbot when you can use a fast and precise internal which you can conceal compared to a mathack.

Mat hacks still work in sv_pure 2 to some degree
SMAC isn't the greatest program, it won't catch the most subtle of cheaters, but it WILL catch the most obvious ones (Which honestly is most as Pub hackers tend to hack for the sake of pissing people off and not to "get away with it").
During the development of my own plugin I started to bring in parts of SMAC to get a sort of "bundle of plugin protection" going on, I even had a hacker I met up in a valve server come into my server to test his cheat against my anti-cheat.
While he was in my server I decided to test out how sensitive the Aimbot Detection module was; SMAC notes the first "detection" as a possible false flag and then gives the user 4 more "detections" before banning. The detection itself only occurs when a player is being fairly obvious with their hack, nothing that you would accidentally do with a really good flickshot.

The screenshot provided by OP showing the red soldier is 100% from a mat hack which are still working to this day as they have been updated for steampipe.

Shameless plug: Use a combination of smac_antiwallhack and integritf2 on your match servers so you don't have to worry about walling (it blocks wall hacks a good 95% of the time).

Back to the point on hand. Hasassin likely didn't cheat during official matches, but that doesn't make him any less of a piece of shit for doing it in the first place. How nice he is is irrelevant...
I clearly recall people rallying against players hacking on alts in the infamous TFTV Cheater/Hacker thread AND a thread over at UGC pertaining to a certain plat heavy, so it's kind of stupid to see people getting so defensive about it now.

I mean, those threads are sort of why I think it's good to note a difference btwn hacking cases, because it was a lot of witch-hunting and false dilemmas in general. like, again, idk why saying "this is a really bad thing, whereas this is a significantly deplorable thing" is such a big deal, they can both still be bad things overall, but one is still significantly worse no matter how you twist it

But being a dick hacking in a match is significantly worse than being a dick hacking in a pub.

yeah SMAC doesn't pick up on aimbotters that use a fov higher lower than ~35ish or have antismac (like 1 tf2 cheat has this feature lmao)

however i'm wondering how mathacks still work with pure 2, mind showing a pic of it on a pure server

Let's face it, if this was a case in a bigger eSports scene like CS:GO where there is a lot more money and fans involved, there would be a significant outcry towards a pro player even just cheating in a pub. His team either would have to drop him or lose their sponsorship. Viewers and fans will vent their usual VAC or witch hunting rage towards the particular pro.

Even if you're a top 2 team in Invite, you're not making a whole lot from the game while everyone else is pretty much spending more money than they earn to play ESEA. That's called a hobby. How can you explain to hassassin's team or his friends that him cheating in a pub is a big deal when they have no angry mob to worry about and no sponsor or salary to lose but a player they care about playing with. This is the reality behind the "cheating in pubs doesn't matter" mentality; I don't condone it or anything but I think it would just add some more perspective.

and i like habib, and don't think he cheats (haven't looked at the evidence or whatever), but no one really cares cause thats the state of tf2 right now. this would be a bigger deal if this was over a year ago, and IM actually was kind of difficult where one player couldn't just carry a team to playoffs.

Eh people didn't really care when insom got VACed apart from his own team. Sure he was cut for it, but he was able to join another team at about the same level instantly.

While we're on the topic of cheating I recently saw a thread of a person with a VAC ban on their main account promoting a tf2 pug group. Many people in the thread not only didn't seem to care, but even defended the ban since it was for CS:GO. It really opened my eyes on how people view cheaters.
