This is honestly hilarious but sad at the same time. Not even giving players a choice of whose cast to watch and just banning the competition? I'd watch an aim cast over an rgl one any day.

people watch the mal cast because they prefer it to the rgl cast. the more casual environment and familiarity with all the players is just a better viewer experience for a lot of people me included. pretty dumb to ban him for providing a better cast

I went to check when I saw the ban but you can't look at version history on their rules. I seem to recall someone on here mentioning getting unbanned after checking an archive of the rules and finding that a rule hadn't been on the list when they "broke" it, but I don't remember who it was or how they found that out.

wayback machine wasn't super helpful, but there is 1 log from may 8 2020 where this rule doesnt exist https://web.archive.org/web/20200508184929if_/https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jfp2o6X4m0zdrX50kZ5YNsrvBANqxfDb-nEsRBb1wh0/edit
wonder if banny would get banned if he casted a match that rgl casted

lmfao really? literally the most prem/invite player casts are interesting since they can tell you shit about the teams better than someone who actually cast can. bit stupid banning players from casting by themselves and is an easy way to actually shut out new casters.

was a week ban for something like this worth looking this bad?

So what's stopping us from making a NATF2L and just ditching this league?

RGL rules
[1010.1] - Casting Organizations
... Match cast rules apply to these casting organizations: RGLgg, TFTV, CappingTV, eXtvesports, and FiresideCasts.
RGL will not enforce the match casts rules for casting organizations not listed above
[1010.2.5] - Casting the same match as RGLgg
Only casting organizations can broadcast into the STV and cover the same match as RGLgg.
With these two rules and aim's violation, it's clear that the violation contradicts the rules or the rules are not adhered to at all.
To make it clear:
Aim is not listed with the casting orgs, nor is he affiliated with any of them. With 1010.1 put in motion, he should be exempt from the match cast rules - and yet he is banned from the rule 1010.2.5.
That's fucked up man.

meanwhile 99% of casters get involved with casting by doing solo/fun/casual casts of officials. be it tf2 or any other esport. save the safeguarding of your casts and other bullshit for when tf2 is actually big. This is a small community esport with next to nothing in the sponsors and completly supported by the community. RGL must be some sort conspiracy to kill off whats left of this little game because shit like this makes no sense.
could you imagine if back in the day esea banned salamancer, arx and beta, or eXtv from casting?

How tf can they even justify it as competition? The people who watch aim casting a match are not the same ppl watching RGL cast a match. I really do appreciate the casters for RGL but it's fairly clear when I watch casted games on that stream that there aren't a lot of casters with high level experience, which is what I and a lot of other people like to see when watching a cast/stream. That's why invite players that watch matches like aim, zilly, etc. get so many viewers when they watch other teams play.
RGL has a great production value and visuals, aim gives great insight and knowledge on what's actually happening. They take up different spaces in the world of TF2 casting so idk why RGL is trying to punish aim, unless the admins just like making bad decisions and are doing it for only that reason.

the fact that the rule isn't a shadowrule doesn't make it good tho. also the fact that the version history of the rules isn't available on google docs is kinda odd ngl, but maybe it's just fuckery on google's end with public docs and shit, idk.
