I'm not angry just disappointed. Why is everyone so boring? I agree granary was fine to keep, but metalworks too? Somehow it got the most votes. Either reckoner or clearcut would've been way more interesting to see/play next season.

you sound a little, mad
on a real note tho like, I think metalworks is a solid map, sure the last sucks to push out of but I think it has a lot less flaws than many other maps. Last seasons map pool in my eye was the best we've had in a while, change is cool and necessary at times, but im happy that this is the final outcome for the map pool.

I agree on the clearcut part, I disagree on the reckoner part because that map and metal don't have any discernible features that distinguish them from one another gameplay wise. That being said, I absolutely cannot wait to scrim a different gamemode just to play it a whopping two times out of 14 maps.
I'll be honest i think i just prefer the way reckoner looks to metal. But yh another koth map would've been nice.
flick mad he isnt tall enough to deny metal 2nd sacs again
imo, the fact that the map pool stays the same from one season to another is more important than a slight improvement on one of the maps (assuming you rate clearcut higher than metal for instance). Once the same maps have been played consistently for a while (for some reasons, cups did not choose to keep it that way - not talking about cups which are intended to test maps of course), opinions on a possible map pool change can be discussed.
But I'd rather play a potentially less interesting map pool for a longer period of time, rather than experimenting with map changes every now and then.
Note that my statement doesn't stand if there is a map that is rated very very low in the map pool (thinking about that one season with cardinal where the map was rated significantly lower than any other maps). I don't think that it is the case here.

I would love to play a season with 3 koth maps. All 3 of the NA koth maps are solid or great,.and play out in unique ways. I'd even put bagel above clearcut. It's so fast-paced, with the cap and respawns being pactically instant. Very interesting take on koth.
Would have been annoying to lose Metal when most teams have finally figured out the basics on it tbh, glad it's still in. Gran itself is also the best map of those on that list (and I'm not even saying that it's the least shitty map, it's just really good imo). If we're to get rid of a map at this point it should be something like Sunshine that consistently proves to be stale af at a high level.

NINETY NINE
NINETY NINE
after gully, can we update metal to give it a 3rd color
Metalworks is honestly one of the best balanced maps for class fights. Almost every part of the map is just wide enough to not be anoying with spam and still not be another cp_process clone that encourages scout dominion.
People don't like it cuz it's dark and I bet those same people use dark theme on their browser smh...
I like last so not touching that one

So I'm boring bc I prefer metal instead of reckoner smh...
euros will play reckoner for 3 years but complain about playing metalworks.... go figure

imagine having an actual democracy haha just US things maybe in 2024 RGL will let us decide what maps to play and we can get blands/granary back instead of villaids/coldcut

I miss badlands so much. Its still the best map at feeling like a battlefield and not an ~abstract architecture laser tag arena~. Something about the lighting paired with its desolate desert setting gives it a gritty, dramatic vibe that other maps don't capture and It hits the perfect balance between realism and abstraction/"gameplay oriented map geometry". I love the way process plays but the environment feels just a little too artificial and... processed haaaa. The other maps we play nowadays do a better job aesthetically than process but even those dont quite have the same bad ass feel badlands does.

Reckoner/Villa
Also I don't understand how having a universal whitelist is somehow seen as more of a big deal than having a universal map pool when none of the banned/unbanned items between the two have been fundamentally game-changing.
