unless you were willing to slave your life away to grinding dm/mge or trying to convince yourself that you enjoy playing medic, being a pyro main was simply a way for non-competitive people to enjoy a somewhat skilled variation of the game

i dont see the logic linking "pyro can take skill" and "hate against playing pyro is not warranted", the reason why people vent that out is because pyro has the ability to inhibit the mechanical freedom you have and the choices you can make during an encounter, which is not fun. calling out people who enjoy this position of privilege is fine, because it's just that, a call out (assuming you don't start harassing them or whatever)

you don't have to do this to be competent at scout/demo/soldier/engie/spy/heavy, theres lower divisions for a reason and people who don't want to/can't put in the time to improve don't have to in order to have a good time. unless you're talking about pubs but then what does "somewhat skilled variation of the game" mean? are pubs a "skilled variation" of tf2?

-decrease strength of airblast the more times it is used in a row
-make it so that you have to actually aim the flamethrower, instead of the optimal strategy being to fling your mouse
-make it so that players can airstrafe after being airblasted
Result: pyro is now significantly less annoying, while still being able to act as a training wheels class to new players.

you used to be able to until they decided to update the flame texture for literally no fucking reason? old flame texture looked like it had some level of thought put into it to make sure visibility isn't aids, the new one is more real fire like sure but is dat what we really want/need lmao.

It's not even a cone anymore. Now it's just a massive box that surrounds the Pyro, and even goes behind his fucking model. Imagine standing behind a Pyro who is completely unaware and looking opposite of you, firing a rocket (not even necessarily at him), then immediately exploding from the reflected mini crit the Pyro magically hit you with during his attempt to reflect a crossbow Medic spamming him. All the while him never even knowing you're there, because his airblast box extends behind him. What a joke.
