turn your kb a full 90 degrees so that the spacebar is above ctrl and it makes a tiny tiny bit more sense

I had an old keyboard that had wasd keys not working so I redid keybinds to keep the feel of wasd and that involved moving scoreboard to q, and when my new keyboard got here I moved all the binds back but I kept pressing q to show scoreboard so I just kept the q thing

i used 'F' as crouch for my first 1200 hours.

i am literally sitting here trying to do this and i physically cannot contort my hand to accomplish this

don't quake players use space to scope in or something

For every game, one of my friends uses
q-backwards
w-left
e-forwards
r-right
I don't even know what they do for crouch they play with all 4 fingers on movement keys.

i press left Control in any game with my palm, i can ctap with it
this way i can have my pinky cycle between either Tab(scoreboard) or Shift(push to talk)
in games where Shift is a movement alternator i rebind my push to talk to mouse4

please dont do that, i know you have hyperflexible joints but doing this might lead to partial or full impairment of your thumb in the future as well as hand pain in general(citation needed)

I know Jaguar uses the arrow keys for strafing, with control, delete, etc. for other functions.

Mine are:
w - left
e - forward
r - right
d - back
m1 - shoot
m2 - jump
space - alt fire/zoom
shift - crouch
mouse wheel up - primary weapon
a - secondary weapon
3 - melee weapon

I used spacebar to shoot and left click to alt fire/zoom for a couple of years. My theory was that not using mouse 1 to fire would allow my mouse arm to be less tense and track better. Results were marginal in that area and my rockets and flick aiming fell off, so I switched those.

If you look up orzo's old config, his binds make no sense.

I use "E D S F" because of my old high-school days learning how to type. You'll notice that on every keyboard (or every one I've ever used) the F and J keys have tactile raised tabs on them.

In order to orient my fingers on the keyboard without looking I feel for the little "tabs" that are on them.

As a result, my "V" key is my crouch key.

Other than that, the only other non-common thing I do is map messages to my F keys like "Hello team what class do we need?" and stuff like that. I also use my extra mouse buttons for direct access to weapons. My thumb buttons are mapped to each weapon (primary, secondary and melee). I have one button on my mouse to scroll through different DPI's (Sniper vs Demo for example). I have another couple set to "GO GO GO" and "THANK YOU".
