while i agree with the dramatic flick, i think its important to emphasize why the yen clips stand out.

watch all 3 of the shots again. watch the slow motion and use < and > to go frame by frame.
yen fires his pipes at the exact stopping point of all of the flicks.

this is not shared in the daz flick (you can clearly see his crosshair overshoot and also go frame by frame and see when his ammo count diminishes and when the pipe is shot)

is that not how you are supposed to flick aim? flicking and shooting at the exact stopping point? Wouldn't it be more weird if he just threw his mouse around and shot randomly and it somehow exactly fired when it was lined up with the target? correct me if I'm wrong I guess.

what am i missing, why are we talking about inconclusive projectile clips when we have a sniper clip where he's aiming at a wall, goes to the medic's head, and then back to the exact same spot on the wall he was aiming at before?

This is a fairly convincing argument and helps a lot I think with illustrating why the clips are weird. It certainly gives me something to look out for in the future. I am trying to stay as unbiased as possible in looking at these clips, so I do wonder, is there an explanation for this that isn't "it happens sometimes"? I can't see it being real.

Flick one way, fire on the one frame when it stops (consistently), then flick the completely other direction, while also at other times pointing at some random point in the sky and not moving your mouse at all??? Flicking to the target and shooting when u think ur on it makes sense, but why would u ever then wildly swing the other way away from all the targets?

Usually if ur flicking u dont need to be 100% precise because you're flicking TO the target, so there are multiple frames where your crosshair is gonna be near/on the target, but here theres literally one stationary frame and then he's flicking back the other way 180 degrees immediately

Im going to go back and look at the demos and record all the mentioned instances its just that I can't figure out how to get
xray spectator glow effects to work.

admittedly im not really interested in looking very hard so i'm not willing to throw out an accusation especially because i dont think ive ever even played against this guy, but just going through his logs this guy has never played a bad game once. he rarely even loses. running up insane numbers against players who have been playing way longer at a higher level. i just click on 3 or 4 random logs across 6 different pages of logs and theyre all good. either insane dpm/kd demoman or 75%+ acc scout. doesn't pass the smell test to me

I'm so confused by what this means. Like, they'll ban anyone who tries to start a playoff boycott? What if multiple people join in, do they all get banned? What if a bunch of people already agreed privately and then someone makes a thread announcing there are ten teams participating, does only the OP of that thread get banned? I mean, the whole point of a boycott is to be disruptive, so how do you enforce a ban on purposeful disruptive techniques?

I also have a half edited video of some comparisons between legit/believable flicks vs the sus one, but I fell at this point that is unnecessary to post.

So here’s another case where the community volunteers tens of hours of their own time to do the RGL anti cheat’s job for them (which we understand, they’re understaffed and there’s a lot of cases to check), but like can the AC team (which self admittedly has NO ways to detect cheats besides visual inspection) just use the sample of clips gathered here and make a decision? Not saying that they should take the word of the ppl that have posted the clips alone (they should also confirm it), but it seems like combing through the clips would be the most time-consuming part. And meanwhile, another playoff bracket is ruined for the vast majority of the teams if yen is determined to be cheating.

It just seems crazy that there’s consistently 0 transparency about anything regarding the cheating situations that happen pretty much every season at this point, and they get left until it’s way to late to fix anything unless the teams literally stop playoffs from happening (which we can’t do anymore). As was said last season with the Kryma situation, cheating accusations need to be dealt with before playoffs because even if yen gets banned and REAL get their matches revoked, now the bracket is just completely fucked and it’s too late to go back and replay everything.

If you compare this to literally any other game where cheating is involved, no tournament organizer has a problem with saying “player X failed to pass this Anticheat protocol, they are being investigated”, then the player gets temporarily removed from the roster until they’re cleared. Yeah some people could get witch-hunted but then the anticheat team can just make a statement clearing them once the job is done. Instead we do the opposite, nobody has any info, so the teams playing with the potential cheaters are like fuck it, we will keep this guy playing until RGL tells us otherwise, and then by the time the guy gets banned playoffs is over. Remember, yen was reported LAST SEASON and we’re still dealing with this shit now.

For them to implement a rule against boycotting instead of fixing the reason it happened means you guys are pretty much fucked anyway.

The central thing your paid competitive league should be doing is maintaining competitive integrity. If they decide banning the people trying to avoid playing against cheaters is more important than banning the cheaters then that should be seen as a successful boycott.

I'd also like to point out that the literal exact frame that the shot is fired is also the exact frame that the direction they are moving their view becomes reversed.

hes not banned by anticheat because nothing posted in this thread is even close to conclusive proof that he is cheating. to me it looks like he aims the same on most every shot and sometimes he hits really crazy looking ones because he is flicks hard and fast. in that comparison video you can see the same mouse movement, flick back and forth on the shots he misses as well as the medic shot at the end. the flick on the medic at the end also isnt nearly as much mouse movement as it looked like to me at first, the medic counter strafes and the movement of the scout in front of him makes it look like a bigger flick than it is, I would just diagnose it as a lucky shot. not saying that he is not a suspicious player overall but if rgl banned off these clips they would be stupid
