stabbyHurpDurpthanks. Odd it's not locked, in that case.stabbyI also found this interesting cvar:
net_splitpacket_maxrate def. "80000" min. 1000.000000 max. 1048576.000000
"Max bytes per second when queueing splitpacket chunks"
I tried setting it to max with no noticeable effects...gonna stick with it for a bit out of curiosity. Would appreciate if anyone could identify what exactly it does.
From what I understand, this cvar controls packet splitting server-side to send more packets to the clients, to alleviate choke. I don't think it has any effect if set on the client.
Locked in what way?

Does anyone know what I should set mat_quene_mode to disable multicore rendering? It's enabled by default.
many tks to the creator. Raised my average fps from 20 to 50 :D
This config constantly crashes my graphics driver and I don't know why. Doesn't happen with chris' fps config. I probably have a faulty gfx card since its from like 2006, but it only happens constantly with this fps config.
Can i use this config with DX9 or is it only for DX8?
If yes, then which version of Dx9 should i use? -dxlevel 90, -dxlevel 91, -dxlevel 95 or -dxlevel 98?

Yes you can use this config with DX9. Personally I'd recommend -dxlevel 90 cause the higher ones add more processing and can sometimes give less frames.

Yeah I use the same config, but with the outlines and shadows enabled for some info during plays.

Figure I'd ask here instead of making a thread for it. What's the console command for tf2s in-game audio? I know it's somewhere in my config because my audio resets each time I start up tf2 or exec autoexec. I couldn't find what the command might be by googling it and I can't find what it might be in my config so I have no idea.
So I'm trying to use the Cinematic config but it keeps crashing the game. (The normal maxfps configs don't do this). I have a quad-core and normally have no trouble running the game. It CAN load up Suijin and it looks beautiful, but when I try to load some of the larger, older maps, like Badwater or Upward, it can't apply a shader to the skybox and crashes.
It happens so quickly that I can't read it, but it goes like this:
EDIT:

I got off my lazy ass and screened dumped it.
What's interesting is that I can load up Upward and Badwater AFTER I've already been on Suijin, but then it can'tr render the skybox and I get the purple checkerboard texture. I assume it's because Suijin uses a different skybox, but what is the command for the shader on the skybox, and how do I turn it down?
SPECS:
MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz Bloomfield 45nm Technology
6,00 GB Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 529MHz (7-7-7-20)
896MB GeForce GTX 260 (ZOTAC International)

I think what you're looking for is "volume". How on Earth that didn't show up when googling is beyond me :D

lol yeah it was volume. Pretty dumb I didn't try volume in console because that command is beyond obvious.. It wasn't in my autoexec, so I have no idea how it kept resetting to the old value I had when I tired changing the in-game audio slider. Thank you.

when i change my resolution to 1240x768 the cfg is removed and i have the default settings i had before. I want to cfg but yet have my resolution i want.
even with your potato cfg, dxlevel 91 gives me like 90 fps. dxlevel 81 gives me stable 300+ without any fps cfg. i really want to use prism hud which is a dx 9 only thing, any help here?

Pretty sure it works just fine on dx8, I think there was just some vpks that got stuffed up since the Gun Mettle Update, just remove unlit_world, unlit_nofog_world, and some others which I can't remember ;/

Prism HUD isn't Clean TF2, the HUD utilizes a few elements that are dx9 only, the scoreboard, the health and team select all use dx9 only features.

I've spent quite a while searching through the internet for ways to increase my FPS, after quite some trial and error I've compiled a ton of stuff from many different players. While the particles and some scripts are by me I have all of you guys to thank. MaxFPS
EDIT: most of my screenshots and videos are outdated, download the MAXFPS pack and test yourself, sorry.

2639 frames 11.816 seconds 223.34 fps ( 4.48 ms/f) 13.420 fps variability
Last update^
was using same settings and PC as before
2639 frames 11.478 seconds 229.91 fps ( 4.35 ms/f) 13.286 fps variability
about to release a benchmark for the no-explosion smoke script
2639 frames 11.524 seconds 229.00 fps ( 4.37 ms/f) 13.135 fps variability
2.5% Improvement for me, would recommend the no-explosion script.
I used the .vpk one here http://www.teamfortress.tv/post/449092/no-explosion-smoke-script

Kryptso was there an update to the config or?
as far as I know, there was none. Comanglia, R4ndom and I are working on a new one. It gives about 8-10 better fps.
Here it is. Works better with my entire MaxFPS pack. (R4ndom's cfg)

I didn't update the config this time around, I just never benchmarked after the gun mettle update.

It really doesn't. I did some tests and the fps seem to be exactly the same (after cleaning up r4ndom's config that is, the thing's a mess).
Not to mention things like -heapsize do absolutely nothing.

I'm not a very organised person :(
I highly doubt that my config gave the exact SAME results, since even when I compare it with itself but in 2 different tests, I get different results. I did 10 tests (5 for each day) to see how much it changed. However, 6fps difference is nothing really.
I don't think my config should be adopted by anyone besides myself since (as you also stated it) it's still a mess. The thing is just a frankenstein config where I merged m0re's comanglia's and rhapsody's using a plugin on notepad++.
I will still update it and if anyone else wants to try my config, ask me personally, it's up to your own discretion. I will setup a github for it.
The reason I made this config is because I wanted to leave a small gift to the community before I quit the game after participating in i55.
Thank you all for the input and have fun!
