mustardoverlordI never got the side of the mouse people
every single player I have ever met who didn't comm enough who I got to know well enough to ask told me they used a button on their mouse for comms
It's literally the best place to put your ptt bind because you always have spare fingers on your mouse hand.

I'm scared to use voice-activation because my mom will come into my room and yell at me for something and it would be embarrassing
I don't even live with my parents anymore so I know it's an irrational fear but someone has to know what I mean

i've used ptt forever so even when i'm using some sort of voice activation i feel the need to press my ptt key
i'm sure if i used it more often then i'd grow out of the habit

what else would you use? Shift?
I find the mouse easiest because you don't have to take a finger off of an important key with your left hand
I actually have mouse 4 and shift as my push to talk keys. I use left shift more than m4 simply because it's just awkward for me to think of pushing a button on my mouse with my already larger than average hands while in a fight. But voice activation + mute mic toggle are excellent if he can't seem to get the idea of having a push to talk key that's in a convenient location

I use a butt plug hooked up to a pressure sensor as my push to talk. I must exert 100lbs of pressure in order to activate PTT.

I recall one dude on TF.TV stated that he used the razer keypad for this purpose.

I usually use mouse4 to push to talk on most games, or in tf2 ingame comms, but if i'm playing 6s pugs or whatever comp format and i'm on mumble i would always use voice activation

The best of both worlds is to set up a button where pressing it toggles activation or not a bit like toggling mute. That way you aren't transmitting constantly and don't have to be holding down a button when talking.

I have my push to talk bound to my desk-bike. I have to keep biking hard if I wanna say anything so it keeps me in shape and makes my comms nice and quick!!!

With a normal WASD setup the only good options are either a key with your pinky (which narrows it down to Lshift or Lctrl) or a button on your mouse. Any other setup will require you to give up some functionality for talking.
I used to PTT but then i realised how good it is to be lazy af and went with voice activation.

mouse4
voice activation isn't bad but everytime i've had friends use it they're just blowing air into the mic

I use voice activation + caps lock to toggle mute every time I talk because:
- I talk to myself and have an mx blue keyboard.
- I don't have to hold down a key to talk, only tap it once to unmute and then once to mute. Just feels a lot less constricting especially for longer comms.
- I can tell if I'm muted or not by looking at the keyboard LED that indicates if caps lock is on or off.
Cons: People will hate you if they're trying to look at something in the mumble chat.

I was wondering why, when we scrimmed yall, your roamer couldn't air strafe and would freeze for half a second after he did anything. Time to LFP roamer friend.
