When I read the title I thought it was another Gangnam Style parody
I used to play russian style when i went to Uni because our desk space was 0 and my chair was a dumb height, I actually liked it alot but couldnt do it when I got home because the desk i use is too high. Still play with kb on lap though.
I have to do this because I have no desk, just a clothes hanger. I don't have the room for my keyboard and mouse at the same time, so the keyboard goes in the lap and I have my mouse pad horizontal. It's actually surprisingly comfortable.
I tried Russian style, but I kept dropping my keyboard. Thanks, spindle legs.
Not_MatlockMy current setup looks like this. It's sort of a Russian setup, but quite different at the same time.

I dont have armrests in my chair so I do this from time to time, especially when I notice my posture getting worse.
Well technically, in Russia computer plays you. Just sayin'

Mongolian style, that's ingenious!
I actually recently tried to switch over to that style. It was really taxing on my left hand, as I had to support the weight of the controller basically with one hand. I eventually would either rest it on my knee or I would disable and bite the other joystick and hold the weight with my mouth.
Also switching weapons was really confusing.

i tried it, for some reason the angle my wrist makes with a keyboard on my lap makes it hurt real quick though
the main use is simply because at most lans they don't give you nearly enough room

it helped me control my mouse a LOT better.
Been trying this recently and it's helped with my aim and overall mouse control a fair amount. Thanks.

yz50 and clockwork both used russian style and they are amazing scouts. It's really just preference though, I don't think there is any correlation. For instance, I use the a normal/inverted-V style myself and I'm....

Antwa actually played like that as well. He came from CS too I believe?
Do the people who use the Russian style have very long keyboard cables?
I want to give it a shot, but to do it I'd have to run the cable under the desk, which would make switching between playing like that and regular typing rather tedious. If I just pull the keyboard towards me, it just dangles off the edge because the cable isn't long enough.

My mechanical hhas a micro USB port on it, so repluggings isn't a big problem at all.

Just stumbled upon this thread while searching for some russian style pics on google, so i just want to tell you that russian style doesnt have anything to do with small desks.

naturally did this due to how i played my computer on a tv cabinet back in the day and have never changed since (feels too odd to do any other way)
