Maybe you're aiming ever so slightly off-center and that middle pellet is just barely missing. If you have a small enough crosshair you should try to aim directly on the sticky and not in the general vicinity or doing a quick flick without looking.

The smart thing is to make ur pocket remove them using escape plan. Trust me, its almost failproof. Yes i might play in open, but that doesnt make my argument any less good...

yeah i have a weirdly difficult time clearing stickies too. i always manage to perfectly miss them with the middle pellet.

as pocket I tend just to push them towards my medics feet so he can clear them for me as the medic usually isnt doing anything to important

because the scattergun follows a 3x3 pellet spread, sometimes where you aim sends the middle pellet just off the hitbox of the sticky and the sticky then rests somewhere inbetween the imaginary grid that is these pellets
