sniper secondary (or possibly melee alternative) which is a Boomerang
it would act similar to the flying guillotine, but
+ on hit, it "returns" and the cooldown is refreshed
- if you miss, you have to wait for the cooldown obviously
i was also thinking of ideas like minicrit headshots, or some kind of DoT effect like a slow or applying jarate
and this would clearly be for fun purposes only, i.e. casual

theoretically infinite damage and practically infinite damage are 2 different things. He hasn't even suggested a damage model. If it does 2 damage per hit its still infinite damage if you hit your shot but it's also ass

if you were close and could infinitely spam it, i imagine it having the same effective dps as holding left click with your melee out

Could make it only do decent damage if you hit someone at a longer range, similar to how the Crossbow works, and have it not really do much at close range/make the SMG a better alternative at close range to avoid the 'infinite damage' theory

I'd rather take 80 dmg bodyshots than get instant killed when peeking a choke point
if the boomerang made a wide curveball-like swing to the right that made it harder to line up throws with, it might be an interesting toy to use in a pub a couple of times, before eventually switching back to the backpack
the arc could also deter you from trying to put down spam damage in a choke because it might just hit the walls and do 0, but i feel like the allure of having a burst damage projectile + the fact that you're a sniper in a choke point would make the combo scout offclassing to sniper a necessity when holding second, which sounds kinda lame

if the recharge is the same as the q3 rail (i think its like 1.5 seconds) or something like that i imagine it would be pretty decent. being able to sit at rollout or 3 door on a process last push while being able to deal consistent 80 damage shots sounds pretty nutty, definitely a lot more consistent, and maybe even better, than stock

imo they should revert sydney sleeper to it's original form (remove the dumb headshot minicrit thing), shorten the duration of the jarate, and just give it the 15% bodyshot damage that the machina has

I can't believe people are ok with the idea of a sniper constantly spamming 80 dmg bodyshots, that's way worse than instakill headshots. He has to wait way longer between shots, stand almost still and hit a way smaller hitbox instead of peeking for half a second and taking more than half health off a scout.

it wouldnt be spammable that fast because it is a projectile. there would probably be a reequip animation upon retrieving it.
