The Medic speed change, one of the most notable and controversial changes that have been proposed, will not be implemented this season following the results of ETF2L's Season 36 Preseason Poll, where a plurality of players (47.3%) voted against introducing the plugin for Season 36.
550 people voted but I seriously doubt that 550 people have even tried the plugin out, also don't think there's 550 people that have been playing from before MYM was released and remember how medic used to play
ETF2L should just host a cup and let people try it out before doing these polls where anyone with an ETF2L account can vote

also what about projectiles colliding with teammates? etf2l didnt say anything about this, or is this the same thing as the crossbow plugin?

jimmijalso what about projectiles colliding with teammates? etf2l didnt say anything about this, or is this the same thing as the crossbow plugin?
The logic I've heard repeated a couple times is it's "intended behaviour". Basically it wouldn't be a bug fix because it's not a bug. Same goes for the medic scout speed which is why ETF2L is not implementing these (yet).
I personally believe it's a bug and should be fixed

Speaking of prize pool, how come ETF2L doesnt run any fundraisers for prize pools anymore? They did it back in season 20 and raised like over 3K, even if you dont get as much today, im still wondering as to why its been left in the dust kinda

speaking as someone in favor of reverting the med speed buff, I think it's still prolly right to give that one time to be tested and hopefully do it for next season (same goes for rgl)
the others are no brainers ofc

How is it going to be tested? We tried to scrim it but eventually people stopped wanting to play us because ‘it’s not being used in the season’. This was as good a time as ever to introduce it (no lan because of corona). I guess people are going to play more mixes with it (when they aren’t scrimming most nights) but eventually with 12 random players playing you hit a wall in terms of useful play testing.

The game hasnt changed THAT much since before the speed buff. Its a known quantity for most players here and should be reverted. Or at least voted on or smth

that's why it's incumbent upon leagues to create a no-med speed cup, either during the season or REALLY early next offseason

keep in mind you're talking to one of the biggest boomers in this game right now. I personally agree that the game hasn't changed that much in the past 4 years or so, but the only viable devil's advocate argument against an immediate revert is still "we don't know EXACTLY how it will function in 2020, maybe meds will die too much to the more skilled soldiers, etc."
testing the mode extensively removes that complaint, leaving only the selfish scout and med zoomers and the delusional "tf2 needs to be esports" people, and they're hopeless, so it's the best way to build consensus

So how are the plugins gonna be enforced, cause last time i checked there was no communication between any of the involved parties (Twikkuu, ETF2L, Serveme) about it yet and matches start soon

I'm not sure all of ETF2L's staff fully understands the requested change. First of all the ETF2L announcement is confusing since it lists and links 3 separate plugins. Groundfix (ramp slide fix), FallDamageFixer (consistent fall damage) and Twikkuu's comp fixes plugin which includes the other two and some other stuff. So really only 1 plugin is needed and that's Twikkuu's comp fixes plugin.
Second, they still need to release updated configs to enable the fixes they want to use. Twikkuu has thankfully released the plugin with all fixes disabled by default, allowing leagues to pick and choose what they want, but that does require updated league configs.
And last, the ETF2L admin asking me about adding the plugin to serveme.tf was up until that point unaware that only premium customers of serveme.tf can enable plugins, requiring serveme.tf to allow this feature for free or force every ETF2L team to become a paying customer (we're opting to make plugins free).

In spite of their recent Map Test Cup, ETF2L decided to add none of the maps tested in the cup into their map pool.
