StarzZI don't really like the movement at all and its hard to see :(

You realize this is a developer (who while better than really bad people is still going to be really bad generally) who isn't even using bhopping or rocket jumping or any of the movement techniques really on gameplay footage intentioned to be a trailer so it has to be maxed out (and thus hard to see if you are every game that isn't Team Fortress 2, and even maxed out TF2 can be hard to see sometimes) rite. >:<

The game is more than likely going to be fine on super low settings + Smooth Textures.

#36 Lawena v4.0 is out. in Videos

Hey dude, hope you see this, I figured it out. It's a weird issue with custom fonts in HUDs from best I can tell.

How I fixed it:

a) Make sure your Custom HUD is actually in your custom/userstuff folder inside your TF2 folder, not the Lawena custom folder.

b) Make sure your Custom HUD and custom configs are all inside the same userstuff folder and not split up. (so custom/userstuff/cfg and custom/userstuff/resource and custom/userstuff/scripts is how your folder structure is setup)

c) Make sure none of your config files inside your custom/userstuff/cfg folder are named recording, settings, or recbindings.

d) Attach the following to the end of your autoexec in your custom/userstuff/cfg folder (make sure it is the end):

sv_cheats 1
exec recording.cfg
exec recbindings.cfg
exec settings.cfg

e) Now if you load Lawena and check the userstuff folder to use it, it should work correctly.

Not sure if related, but this used to happen to a ton of HUD elements a long time ago if mat_antialias was changed via a cfg on game launch IIRC. Since Lawena/Demo Buddy do that, stuff breaks. I don't think it was ever fixed.

ComangliaI would take a guess at any weapon that got updated if used in a demo would cause a crash. Considering the new stats the demo would be using faulty weapons stats or knows that it would be using faulty weapon stats and thus stops loading.

The new demo system they made in (I THINK) late 2010 added backwards compatibility and made every demo made on the new demo system not have this problem. The backwards compatibility is so good that even if map layouts change substantially the demos still work. (even if it means players noclipping through walls or capturing control points where control points don't exist anymore) My Tangerine v Looking Handsome demo was about as broken as demos can get on the new demo system when they are working properly (my Sapper had an Engineer toolbox attached, teleporters were all upside down and diagonal, etc just model errors), and it's been through a few balance updates.

Something in the balance update broke stuff tho, coz even demos that were compatible in previous balance patches don't load. That cp_steel demo just outright crashes the client entirely now.

A guy on Reddit sent an email to the tf team and they asked for him to submit example broken demos and the specific errors that popped up in console to help them fix it.

Send em some demos so they can fix it, cause I can't work on my project atm either. It's definitely some kind of really big error, as every single demo is broken in some way, even ones that previously worked under backwards compatibility.

Probably UGC HL. ESEA bans a lot of the somewhat-to-moderately OP stuff.

UGC HL allows literally every weapon at the moment except the Phlog (genuinely game breaking), the Holiday Punch (goes through ubers), the Bazaar Bargin (bug with it), and the Red Tape Recorder (annoying i guess but it's not even OP after the nerf tbh). Would have to be stricter than that for 6s I think.

It says in the e-mail that it was human error. They haven't made any changes to Badlands in ever, so that change just slipped through and never shipped. It's not like they made the change and kept it internal on purpose.

if they don't put it on the mad milk you could have 165 HP Scouts (247 HP buffed).

not true. you can buy EXP boosters in dota 2 store. Not bashing it as its miles ahead of LoL in my opinion. but ya, there are some cheap micro transactions in dota.

XP boosters that don't do anything except let you get cosmetic item drops faster.

By having to save up points, it means you get more playtime with each champ you own and gradually build up you knowledge of champions one by one as you buy them. There's just too much to take in at once if you have access to all of them.

That's a fair point except most of the LoL community is still rubbish at most of the heroes they already own somehow which is impressive since none of them even come close to the difficulty of most of the DotA heroes. '-'

All forcing people to buy heroes does is (combined with their design idea I talk in #49) make them make their heroes less unique, which dumbs down their ban/pick, and makes the game more repetitive. There is very few skill mechanics in this game not shared by another hero, and a lot of heroes have skillsets that have nothing really crazy unique and game changing to them at all.

Lastly, just because you own every champion doesn't mean you have to play them all, though since DotA is basically Normals unless you have 5 or PUG there's also no harm in someone being rubbish at them.

I mean, this would be like arguing it would be great if Valve locked all the classes away except Heavy until you grinded points to buy the others or spent money on it because xd people will be rubbish and might have to learn aspects of the game and get better xd (how terrible of a thing that is!).
