But seriously - anyone want to help manage TF2 contests and activities around Houston? I can't do any admin/management stuff myself but I know a guy working on the Houston Starcraft League who would like to incorporate more games. If you can pitch in a bit, let me know here or wherever. If we get anything off the ground I will promote the shit out of it.

Edit: Hein wasn't specifically discussing the m4risa ban with me, it was more of an offhand comment that I misinterpreted. All he said on the subject at QuakeCon was that m4risa had had the demos requested 3 times, not that m4risa had failed to turn them in all 3 times. So that's my bad for making shit up.

Just met Hein at Quakecon. The reason you were banned was for refusing to provide your POV demo on three separate occasions. You could have just given them the POV demo and probably been fine.

I don't want to administrate it. Someone with more time and experience on their hands should do that. I just want to shoutcast and market it.

Much easier. The teams could coordinate their own fundraising through sponsors and streaming. eXtv would probably help of course, but not sure if we'd play favorites with any teams as far as promotion is concerned.

It would certainly be a smaller affair than Starcraft is currently, but who knows? I've posted on the MLG forum so hopefully they contact either me or someone at eXtv to chat about it. One thing I'm interested in knowing is some specifics in case they do - where can we find an ESEA config? How should servers be set up? What kind of rules for team formation and anti-cheating should be used? MLG might be interested in that level of detail, or not, I have no clue.

As long as we don't view my actions through rose-colored glasses, that's cool. I want to maintain humility and dedication, and want to be as open to everyone as possible. So if I start seeming condescending or arrogant, I don't want anyone excusing that behavior just because I dropped some G's on the competitive community.

No. Habitually performing good acts and not bad ones goes a long way towards making a man good; so does integrity and honesty. I appreciate all the support - but if I'm going to be known as a "good man" I would prefer it be for everything I do, not just a one-time cash thing.

Including my own ticket, $17 grand. So far the fundraiser is close to paying me back fully, so it was more of a cash advance.
