https://comfig.app/hits Added hitsounds and killsounds! No uploading functionality yet, but all valid sounds that were listed on HUDS.TF (over 2000!) are now on the new site!
As a special treat, thanks to Mothership we have upscaled all sounds to be 44.1kHz and 16-bit! And thanks to ADPCM compression, hitsounds are 4x smaller in size on average.
So, enjoy higher quality hitsounds at a smaller file size!
Search and some other features will come soon, let me know if you have any other feedback.

Yes, I understood that. Medium has no difference with high in that regard. High is only used for flashlight shadows, it has no effect on shadows for normal gameplay.
crespiThanks for your response. I created a folder tf/cfg/overrides and in there put modules.cfg and in that file I put the following line of code
shadows=ultra
I must not be doing it right as shadows are still medium
The video settings are not accurate. Medium quality shadows are the highest quality shadows used in TF2. If you'd like to enable higher quality shadows for flashlights, you can use the flashlights module.
StaticVoidThank you for this. I really appreciate you grabbing all the current huds from the site and having them ready just in case the creators didn't notice the huds.tf shutdown (because i definitely didn't until last minute).
I know you plan to have a better UI for advanced search, but do you know if things like ratings will return? Sorting by rating would be appreciated because there's a lot of unfinished / minor edit huds in the listings.
Also, what about hitsounds / killsounds? I know this was a minor addition to the original huds.tf, and it was mainly flooded with in-jokes and anime sounds, but I did find it useful for finding some good new beeps and bloops to use.
I have some ideas to improve discovery, will experiment with them over the coming weeks.
I have grabbed all the sounds, working on the best way to make a hitsounds site available again.
Hi all, ever since I heard the news that huds.tf was shutting down, I wanted to provide a service to the community so we wouldn't be without an easy to use and interactive listing of all the wonderful, community-created TF2 HUDs.
So, after a few nearly sleepless nights, I'm happy to announce comfig huds!
You'll find the main functionality quite similar to huds.tf, being a list of HUDs :)
But there's quite a few new neat features! Those include hover previews, realtime instant search, improved data and information for each HUD, and more HUD listings than were available on the old site.
There's also a more modern, sleek design as well as hopefully better performance!
As always, I'd love to hear your feedback and improve this for you all, and I hope it becomes a useful stop for your TF2 customization adventures!

Added realtime search! Filters are coming soon too, and hopefully I'll have some more exciting news to share in a few days!
All HUDs are now imported from the mega list, if they have a GitHub repo associated: https://comfig.app/huds
Also made some minor UI improvements here and there. Next I'll be working on search, sorting, and more!
I'm still figuring some stuff out, this is just a prototype/demo. Will announce any final plans for it when everything is settled.
Hi all, you may have heard that huds.tf is shutting down at the end of this month. In response, I'm working on an alternative HUD listing that uses a more modern setup. The basis for this is the HUD DB repo: https://github.com/mastercomfig/hud-db. This is a GitHub repository that stores all data for the HUDs. I am still working on the format and open to any feedback. HUD authors can follow the instructions in the README to learn how to submit and update their HUDs in this repo. The main thing is that HUDs are required to be on GitHub, this allows us to query information about the HUD and preserve version downloads without any overhead to the site.
The initial prototype for displaying the HUD DB is available here: https://comfig.app/huds
Peaches has moved over his HUDs, and I've included 2 example listings for 7hud and budhud. Hopefully I will touch base with omni on accessing the huds.tf data for migration purposes. If not, I plan to scrape it before it goes down and migrate everything over. Also, HUD authors are welcome and encouraged to make their own submissions. Let me know if you have any questions.
I've also migrated all of the huds.tf guides over to the mastercomfig docs: https://docs.mastercomfig.com/latest/tf2/huds/
Regarding hitsounds, I'm still working on a plan for those, but I do definitely want to provide people with an easy way to access and download hitsounds.
zfnHi mastercoms, I'm trying to customize my config as I use multiple PCs, so I would like to have every option that I use all in this one config, rather than enabling anything from the options menu but I have a few questions which I can't find the answer to in your docs:
Whats the command to hide the vote kick menu after voting? With all of the bots on casual, this UI is on my screen 90% of the time.
Whats the command to show the item colors in the backpack? From your docs it should be cl_showbackpackrarities 1 but it doesn't work in my autoexec (but I know my autoexec works because i tested it).
I have a lot of commands in my tf/cfg/overrides folder (the essentials like fast weapon switch, auto heal etc along with the personal preference stuff and all my weapon scripts, sens so on so on) which is starting to feel like a second comfig. Once I figure out the commands for everything, Can i turn this into a VPK like the custom folder? Or if not, is it worth me extracting your config, putting all my stuff in there, and making it one big vpk? Yes this will make updates harder but VPKs are more beneficial yes?
Maybe cl_vote_non_input_alpha 0 will work. There used to be cl_vote_ui_active_after_voting 0 but it got removed in June 21 2022
I'm not sure why cl_showbackpackrarities wouldn't work, I'll look into it
You can make it into a VPK, just drag a folder containing it onto vpk.exe, no need to extract the main comfig
Sorry for the delay!
AimIsADickWell mastercoms doesn't play competitive. Is she an alt?
excuse me, i have logs :)
also the quickiebomb launcher charges faster, so it's harder to get an uncharged sticky! i appreciate your work in doing this and i'm sure it works for many cases but there's also obviously tradeoffs you should mention in the OP :)
Cache11031992Hello, masterconfig, where are your documents on GitHub? I can only work with your config there, because I have been using it for a long time to play counter-strike.
scrambled- Fixed precached particles not being deleted across map changes
does this mean they are starting to crack down on preloading?
This is actually just a change for stability: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Source-1-Games/issues/4241
Whether or not it affects preloading is a side effect.
