GeMLil_NathanGeMAlong with bios of players, it should shed some light on pushing methods, playstyles, etc. Something like the wiki Teamliquid has.
I think Team rosters and players/casters/community personalities would be good for now. Pushing methods and playstyles can either go on the official wiki like stated above - or in the guides section here, once that is completed/unveiled.
Edit: Oh wait, are you talking about individual playstyles? eg. Clockwork is a dm scout, etc.?
Something like that. Passive scout play, retard roaming soldier, stuff like that. Maybe even getting into the mechanics of the game like aiming styles and such (I always like a quick read no matter how irrelevant)
Are you meaning like a section under someone's bio detailing their playstyle? Or general playstyles?

I think that the bio thing is a great idea that noone will interfere with, I also think that finding volunteers to write these won't be hard.
The only question is where to put them, where does it gain tf2 the most, can we contact the admins at wiki.teamfortress and ask for permision and maybe even get one of the six thingys on the starting page

Oh man, I totally missed this; enigma has plans for something like this. We just need to figure out the exact technical details. I can advise to write the content, but be prepared to migrate, if it does come up.
It's also quite a bit of work, I expect us to be nominating mods/admins for managing such a database, soon. SO MANY PROJECTS.
EDIT: Let me discuss with enigma to see how we can manage the project and figure out how to start it. Or he can just come in and do it all himself.

I have one more thing to say, when got into comp tf2 a good year ago I remember that after some time I started wondering, what is meatshot 8), I dug into it and then I though who was carnage, then who were complexity, who is this reptile dude, who is this fragile dude(well he's back now), what are "the mge days". And an easy way to find all this would be great for everyone that will ask the same questions that I did, but don't forget to add all the cool things and old great teams, not just the bios of the mordern players.

Summary of Thread Ideas
Categories
1. Team Rosters
2. Players (Invite/Prem of course, branch out to others with time/volunteers?)
3. Community Support(?)
a. Casters/Streamers (recognized community casters and most famous streamers)
b. Techies (cinq/tf2lobby creators/mge creator/map creators? etc.)
c. Behind the scenes - Mana, Wreath, lamefx etc.
Bio Information
Picture/Avatar?
Username/Steam ID
Years playing Comp TF2
Main Class
Titles? Player/Streamer/Caster etc.
Teams played for
Leagues played in
Awards won/Season finish
In my opinion - most of the above info should not be in written paragraph form, but perhaps formatted separately from the written area. eg. off to the right hand side wiki style.
Would be great to get a paragraph or quotes from the individual.
Highlights/big moments in career. (Guitar hero TF2 Lange, B4nny blind det. etc.)
Method of play (passive scout, dm scout, etc.)
What they are known for (something as simple as playstyle or them helping the community by doing workshops/demo reviews)
Links to Fully Charged episode that they are in? Frag videos? Demos?
SKILL DETECTOR paragraph? If they got one before his hiatus again.

There is certainly a lot of different categories for information; I'd say just start with the players, straight up. They're the ones people are going to look up. Every little piece of information about their play and history with the game, organized nicely; this is what's ideal. I definitely suggest looking at Liquipedia for reference, as that's the model we're using, more or less. Also information about the leagues that are involved.
Literally this moment, we're setting up the wiki. Please hold. :)

For people too lazy to look up Liquipedia or don't know what Mana is talking about. (like me)

Not yet. I gave enigma access to my VPS, I'm sure he's still messing with things because we both have no idea how to do half of this stuff. I'll/he'll be posting in this thread once it's up.
EDIT: Probably one more day. :)

Okay so enigma found out SimCity is releasing tomorrow.
So, like a week. Sorry. @_@ We're also trying to integrate that Guide section at the very top with it too.

capnfapnmaybe explanations of _idiot, meatshot, reptiles, etc. too?
_idiot was from a troll account on gotfrag named flame_idiot, flame later decided to make that his team name. For meatshot you'd have to ask hong, as he was the originator of the term. Never head reptiles but it is probably because he was pretty good at the game.
Honestly there are so many inside jokes in the TF2 community from the gotfrag days, I feel bad for anyone who wasn't apart of it.

flipperswould the bios be getting made by the players themselves or volunteers, or would it be a combination of both.
i think bios should be self filled up. maybe add a comments section to the bio for others to add in etc?

Patience. Still incoming. I know enigma has started work, but it will be ready when it's ready.

More important than a bios section, a "team" section where a background for all the currently covered teams in invite/prem which are casted by the NA and euro sections of tf.tv on a regular basis so that each respective region could easily follow the other. Whenever i watch a cast of Euro's i always wonder what the teams backstories are but have no idea.

Or maybe a "create a team" feature, where you add people's tf.tv account to roster along with bios/role of each player. Also have someone sort the divisions/leagues and put them in correct spots. Then on each player's page can be their team(s).
