Or you could check them like any other spot. Are we going to start banning Batman on Metalworks? Secret in Gullywash? Unless a certain wallbug spot genuinely breaks the game (in which case you can ban that spot), I see no reason to remove a skill-based mechanic. That's the conclusion ETF2L came to and every time we've discussed it in NA the decision has been to keep them

to give a serious answer any "problem" wallbugs are a map issue if anything
if you really need to get rid of specific wallbugs for being unhealthy, of which i can't really think of any examples, then it's a pretty simple solution to address that spot in particular. look at sunshine lighthouse as a simple solution with push triggers

I don't mind physical props that you can stand on, as long as the map designer intended for them to be there. However, being able to stand on an invisible platform in the sky above major choke points is ridiculous.

One of the most egregious areas is above process rollout.

Why are you pushing out of rollout with enough players alive for clearing that spot to be a problem??

theyre bad for competition probably but the fun and spectacle outweigh the downsides. if they got banned then maps should have more hiding spots, which is probably a worse outcome
like should ctaps or speedshots be banned? get real

I don't think citing ctaps or speedshots as bugs is a strong argument. However, you may be onto something with the previous statement.

these are both bugs.
People don't care cuz they either don't understand them, don't know how to do them/harder than wallbugs and it's harder to tell when you die to it/doesn't feel as bad and blah blah.
wallbugs are pretty gimmicky to go for in terms of making some big game changing play or something since there are only so many spots on each map they can even be used and people know them. Usually they're useful to save urself from fall damage and stuff.
In general banning bugs (especially jump related ones) is a super slippery slope cuz half of what makes jump or source movement in general so good is the bugs (to limited extent). Still not worth making the game less fun cuz u don't wanna look up in places you know to look up in

I saw a guy shoot his feet with a rocket and catapult himself through the air in a TF2Center once, I'm not sure what you would call that but it sounds like abusing a bug to me, we should let league admins know at once so they can fix this issue.

Exactly this, it's pretty much the same as hiding spots or checking corners but you just have some additional spots to check. Especially if a guy is wallbugging against an invisible wall (even high up), he can't do much but fall down once you've spotted him, so it's an easy kill.

I agree with certain points, but at the same time, I'm hearing that there are other bugs in the game that are acceptable (which I also agree with), but I disagree with the notion that this particular bug should be accepted just because speedshotting, etc. are possible

then whats your argument for banning it considering the only thing u say in OP is waaah its a bug ;(
wallbugs are just the same as clearing any other hiding spot except less powerful because the person in them cant even move or look around
just learn where they are and if theres any 1 in particular thats actually broken then the mapmaker can remove it easily

Wallbugs were banned in the past and people decided to unban them, would be awkward to reverse on that now. They're cool to execute, but they still look janky as hell to any newbies or outsiders. I'd rather have an actual visible ledge somewhere high up instead, like the spots on gully 2nd, lamps on gully mid or vents on metal, something that is clearly communicated to everyone. Knowing wallbug spots shouldn't be some sacred right reserved for those who bother to read forums or check the maps with clip brushes on.

This would be a fine solution if it weren't for wallbug spots paradoxically seeing less effective use the more pronounced and known they are. Teams immediately look up to check metal vents and gully lamp when they walk through, because if they're experienced, they already know how powerful these spots can be. Hell, using the spot above gully lower lobby immediately gets you killed 90% of the time, not because its visually obvious, but because it's known and can be easily looked at.
If we want to make the roamer playing experience any less shit than it already is, the healthiest change to wallbugs we can make for everyone involved is:
Sale_boatlookup
and
FactsMachinecheck them

As a former jump main, wallbugs are have always been v funny and I wuold like to see them remain in the game. On the occassions I watch tf2 matches/clips, it makes me smile to see someone wallbug. Definitely a much more severe bug than ctaps/speedshots, but it seems unenforceable and there's little mapper support to fix them. I also request that people go for more edgebugs and jumpbugs. Don't see those enough.
Actually... I tried out for an esea team in 2015 and they literally chose griff instead of me because he was willing to rap but I wouldn't sing a Bob Marley song... I have never forgotten this slight. so if y'all can keep wallbugs in the game to make him unhappy, I would appreciate it. thank you.
