Am I reading this wrong or does this mean that seeds 5-8 can't get 1st? So there's basically no reason to play the lower bracket?

I'm pretty sure what this means is that it's an 8 team double elimination bracket, however the bottom 4 teams will start in the lower bracket. (It will effectively be single elim for the bottom 4 teams). Anyone can get first but the top 4 teams get two lives and two of the bottom 4 teams will get eliminated first round.

Can't just shortcut it had to learn that the hardway. You need like minded people on a team it's not fun if only 2-3 people take it seriously and if some people just don't have the drive love my teammates but its time to build for another season.

Ok we got clarification. 5-8 seed play a double elim bracket. So there's no possible chance at getting 1st for 5-8 seed and since prize money is top 4, no chance at money either.

RGL im sure you can still change this, its not like it was decided before the season started, if you can change the playoff structure in week 5 you can surely change it again in week 6! just copy the invite one it wont be hard!

alternatively, you could just figure this out and release it in the preseason like every other league ever. there are only like 3-4 choices for how to do playoffs, just pick one.

I like how the 4th and 5th seed have 4-3 and 3-4 records respectively (5th seed actually has higher RW% at 57.57% vs 50%) but 4th seed can top out as 1st overall and 5th can only go down in placement. Oh and 5th has no chance at money.

we should mirror it like stage 2 playoffs from last season, do a double elim where top 4 start in upper bracket and bottom 4 start in lower bracket. reward teams who played well in the regular season so that it doesn't make the regular season worthless

you cant call yourself a competitive league and then remove the part about competing for the highest placement possible

This week was so fucking hard man. Zero things went my way this week I had to receive news that my grandma died on the day of the Opium match have to play through it do to scheduling conflict. My demo sub left to rejoin the team that originally cut him on the day of the match that we had to face. Lost half my team after paying for like 2-3 of them. Mip officially retired this week just kicked my ass horribly. Shoutout to my team to keeping me sane this week.

Ideally the initial decision wouldn't need to be modified because it's correct from the get go, but admins are only human and yeah this 100% beats early era where the admin in charge would only double down on bad decisions because of their ego
