cp_ashville might actually be fun on this.

LangeI didn't know that nocrits/nospread disqualified a server from being listed in QuickPlay. I'm editing the config now to make the server eligible.
Instant blacklist.

I think you misunderstood my post. I edited the config to turn on crits and damage spread, not somehow bypass the tags.
That's why I said instant blacklist. Hate random crits.

Serverside max rates upped to 100k. cmd / update suggested 66 or 100 whichever your connection will handle best.
Mapcycle updated. Currently:
pl_badwater
cp_gravelpit
cp_badlands
pl_upward
ctf_turbine
koth_lakeside_final
cp_foundry
cp_freight_final1
Rates changed to higher minimum. Found 24 man pubs at 30k for anyone has pretty bad choke upped minimum rate to higher value. Max still 100k.
Should there be any other plugin type stuff besides RTV/Mapchooser?
Also TF.tv Ammo mod server up (Thanks Fog)
Found a bug with Quick Play system about keeping logged in which enables quick play also reported it. (writing a script to keep a check on status and relog the server on logout)

After observing today, i got off the phone with the DC. The server will be monitored for extensory connections (flooding ect...) as well as network spikes. Sorry it is such a slow process but the server will be fixed/optimized for full 24 soon without choke/lag issues. :<

give invite players a floating sprites above their heads (similar to a donator) during setup&humiliation.
Honestly I'd prefer to have random crits and spread turned off. We don't need quick play and tons of random noobie pubbers populating the server at all times. In fact, they can and will often get discouraged by constantly getting destroyed by really good players and then will rage and leave. TF2. Forever.
But seriously we have a sizable enough community here to keep the server moderately populated and spread word of it manually, like plenty of other servers already successfully do.
Ok, so you're pubbing, relaxing, smiling, having a good time. You're at full health as you come around a corner... then your cat steps on your power strip and turns off your rig. This is not much different than getting killed by random crits. They are there for noobies. Valve says that they are there to break stalemates and reward good play and stuff but that's 99% horseshit. They are actually a (clever) marketing tool. No matter how bad you are, especially as a beginner, you will at some point draw a random crit and kill some dude(s) and possibly change the outcome of the game or at least the moment. That is positive feedback and incentivises you to keep playing the game and therefore to recommend it to your friends (except that it's f2p now) and then you and your friends are more likely to keep playing it and spend money (item shop).
But I'd like to think that the majority of us are beyond that point.

Pubbing led to jump servers, and jump servers led me to competitive TF2. Random crits can be fun, espically when you get a random crit sticky. 5 PEOPLE MUST DIE WITH ONE STICKY SPAM THEM ALL, turns out to get 2 =[ But still, Random crits>No crits. For pubs only.
Yesterday the servers network was under a network attack. After everything was sorted out, everything should be back to normal. I would advise highly to up your rates in the server. I use 100k, the choke ect... has been sorted out as well.

The point of wanting the server in quickplay is so more new players and random pubbers can join and be exposed to this site so that maybe on some off chance they might check it out, find out about comp and then possibly try to get into through newbie mixes or whatever. Sure, that's a longshot, but why should we try to treat this server like an exclusive club for people that are already here? Besides, when invite players do show up, they're almost always goofing off or at least not tryharding so I don't think too many newer players would be discouraged by that.
Besides it's a pub, who cares? Crits still suck but you don't need to be taking pub games seriously anyways.

It has nothing to do with playing "seriously". Getting killed by something that really shouldn't have just feels bad, just like killing someone with a half assed shot that shouldn't have killed them gives you a guilty feeling. This is all with no regard to the setting.
You do have a good point about potentially driving traffic to the site, though.

nobody cares if you want random crits off
if you dont want random crits, go play dm or something

I'm sure you all know this already but if your lerp is orange or yellow you might consider upping it or changing cmd/update to a higher rate or upping the value for cl_interp.
Allow votes has also been enabled. kick, restart, changelevel, scramble ect....
Also plugin questions. Should RTD and other "fun" plugins be around?

rtd no, rtv yes
donation system, yes as long as it doesn't affect gameplay

custom maps only stop quickplay for the duration which the custom map is playing.
that said, consider adding koth_arctic on the rotation. It's the new contest winning map which deserves to be playtested in this kind of community.
