Is there reason for killing or kalkin not responding/giving some bullshit excuse for not letting them reschedule?

much respect bradford. lookin forward to the articles and more info on this. invite has been jerked around for a long time by ESEA policies and a couple of questionable decisions by a lot of people involved. bottom line is rescheduling over and over is more painful for some people than others. brad is a busy guy. also from what it looks like a lot of the decisions aren't as guided by policies as we've been led to believe at times, and are rather judgement calls by killing/kalkin. and in the past there have been some really questionable judgement calls that apparently don't set any precedents.

Are any third party leagues a possibility at all? Something like MLG? I honestly don't know too much about the eSports scene outside of ESEA.

Is there anything to really indicate Jaguar isn't still doing the coding though? He's been the only one doing the client forever; it's his baby. They have said anything about having found someone to do it and I don't know anything about coding but I feel like it'd take a while for anyone but Jaguar to be able to figure out how to work with it.
Maybe I am completely failing to understand the coding process but I think Jaguar must have stayed on at least a while since it was announced he had been fired seeing as he was the only one doing the client.

Jaguar was fired. It was pretty clear when he changed his esea profile. Around the time he was fired there was a job posting at a couple colleges. They picked up some cheap fresh grads who clearly do not know what they are doing and as a result they posted a job hiring to help with the anti-cheat client.

Jaguar stopped working on the client a while ago. There was a long period where no one was banned from cs:go due to the lack of anti-cheat coders besides a couple of blatent brazilians.

Look, ESEA is the only league that will keep TF2. It might suck, but the only thing high invite players drop out accomplish is tell ESEA that they should just drop the TF2 league. TF2 does not make ESEA a lot of money, if any at all, we don't participate in their PUGs/ other community aspect, and we seem to absolutely hate them, when they are the only fucking league that gives even a half a shit about our "E-Sport."

I hate to be be the one voicing the hard truth, but if we decide to boycott ESEA they will drop TF2 and laugh their way to the bank. Do you want a north american LAN event? A league with some credibility (not UGC that is fully community driven or CEVO that is new to the scene)? Do you want anyone outside of the TF2 competitive scene to even know there is a TF2 competitive scene? Well we will have none of that if we boycott the league or a bunch of High players decide to ditch ESEA. Simply put, that would mean the end of TF2 as an E-Sport. Period.

RhetoricalAnarchistAre any third party leagues a possibility at all? Something like MLG? I honestly don't know too much about the eSports scene outside of ESEA.

No, if any outside leagues had any interest in TF2, it would have happened by now.

Honestly, if this trend continues, I would put money on ESEA dropping TF2 by the end of the season.

TF2 isn't an e-sport as it is now, it's a game we all paly competitively for fun, if a league doesn't/can't allow that then why would we play in it.

lol one invite team dying isnt going to make esea drop tf2

they make most of their money off open anyway

regardless of the problems the league had most high level euros still feel dropping esl was a mistake

tf2 has a rich history of dead invite teams

just because one died for moral reasons doesn't mean the death of tf2 in esea

that said, i'm really really sick of client issues and so are most of the other people i've talked to. it shouldn't be this hard to run an anti-cheat client + a video game simultaneously

You got to warch out, if you let them play off client, all those invite players who are in those top teams are just going to be lining up to turn on their wallhacks and aimbots.

I'm no business man and I surely do not know all of the situation, but I feel it reflects poorly on a business to isolate, punish, and/or ignore customers for something the business is at the very least somewhat at fault for.

Has the community ever tried to get picked up by another league? It seems to me something like that doesn't just fall out of the sky.

ESEA is just here to take your money. They would rather keep the illusion of seamless automation and get to the next season than have a satisfied customer.

Teamfortress.tv seems to have the potential to grow a league that would actually use the money to supplement community growth. Sizzlingstats is pretty good if not better than ESEA stats? No LAN at first but probably better in the long run to put money towards a entity that cares about the community. Rather than the bitcoin farm that is E$EA.

Too bad it's basically impossible to run a paid league without anti-cheat (relying on demo inspections is lol), let alone get proper administration (people's time generally isn't free and the problem of being truly run by people who still actively play the game leads to bias concerns).
