We've released a mandatory TF2 update. The notes for the update are below. The new version is 1990187.

- Fixed some items and spell attributes showing incorrect expiration times
- Fixed being able to instantly respawn by changing teams while a ghost
- Fixed taunts with a special purpose being overridden by the Halloween taunt
- Fixed a bug that allowed Merasmus bomb-heads to be passable between enemies
- Fixed the Open Loadout button on the item pickup menu not working properly
- Fixed being able to get into the enemy spawn with the teleport spell in Helltower
- Fixed the crouch+click problems for Mac players
- Fixed a problem with VR mode on Linux when the VR display overlaps the main display
- Removed the prompt to opt-in to quickplay beta
- Updated the equip region for Ivan The Inedible to match the other Spooky Companion items
- Updated the materials for The Hyperbaric Bowler, The Snaggletoothed Stetson, Carrion Companion, and Lieutenant Bites the Dust
- Updated the localization files
- Community requests:
- Added HalloweenSetUsingSpells input to the tf_logic_holiday entity for custom Halloween maps to enable spells
- Added userid to the player_turned_to_ghost game event

btw if you want to simulate matchmaking and disable pinion, connect to a server by typing "connect <ip> matchmaking" in console (without quotes and with the IP of course). this will make the server think you connected with quickplay and the html motds won't show.

I play pubs with a few IRL friends from time to time and it seems most servers make you wait 30-60 seconds for ads every time you join, and after every round. I have HTML MOTDs disabled, but they will still force you to sit still for the same period of time, while simultaneously blocking most of your screen with a 'ENABLE HTML MOTDs NOW' type message.
Hopefully this nixes all that crap.

I'm not sure if the ones I play on are pinion. Finding a pub requires a ton of work now. 90% of them have this ridiculous stutter every 15 seconds that renders it entirely unplayable. Half or more of them have bots who are feigning human. It's pretty easy to tell they're bots and I freaking hate bots. I have an unreal number of servers blacklisted for having bots.

Just play on Valve servers. You can search for them in the server browser by entering Valve as a tag. No ads and no stupid server plugins/mods. It's not worth it to try and find the perfect PUB when you can just pull up a Valve server that's playing your favourite map.

Actually, I noticed the most recent CS:GO template apparently had a big demo playback update, you can now rewind demos without having to reload the map and also skip by kills and rounds easily... Should we get our hopes high for this? Isn't it the same demo engine basically?
