I'm just thinking that if a company like Valve that rarely communicates anything calls someone they fired an ass there must have happened something that pissed them off. As both parties make their statements we will know more, though.

While I though 2gd was hilarious and completely helped make the lack of good production bearable you never know if outside of the panel he was really uncooperative. I feel like valve/gabe newell wouldn't fire him just for how he acted during the panel.

the301stspartanI haven't seen Larry Page or Mark Zuckerberg calling former employees asses on reddit so far. I also don't know of any head of a major game developer (except molyneux) act that way.
And in interviews, articles and anywhere else I've seen Gaben talk, he always talked in corporate lingo and conducted himself super professionally.
So no, I don't see how this is in any way usual for Valve or Gabe, and seems completely ridiculous if it's all about the person making some weird jokes during the break of a shittily produced dota stream.
Reddit is one of the least professional places and this was really just the "quick" answer to the whole shitty production. We'll find out the whole story, but it's pretty profound if a CEO actually makes a statement like that. I really doubt it's just over some shitty jokes, and we'll at least find out 2GD's side of the story soon. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the production team understand why it happened.

KeyTV is the shitshow that's producing this crapfest. Why were they in charge of a Major after that wonderful Nanyang event only god knows. China was held a few great tournys before so it's not like they don't have people who have actual clue about what they are doing. Gaben needs to fire the production team and fire the people in charge who hired the production team.

Considering Gabe went out of his way to call him an ass, I really want to see if Valve explains their side of the story. 2GD is ahead now considering he didn't just leave a statement that boiled down to "you're an ass." If he really was just banned for his on-stream commentary I really think Valve is out of touch with the dota scene.

I'm kind of hoping things somehow get even worse and Valve decides against running another major in China. Obviously never going to happen but at least half of the Chinese lans are such a massive shit show and the scheduling blows on top of it.
