Christian Conservative moms from the early 80s have finally found their allies in modern third-wave feminism
this is a lot better http://kotaku.com/blizzard-patches-masturbation-gag-out-of-overwatch-1767133403
I’m not sure an implied masturbation gag fits Overwatch’s generally PG/PG-13-rated vibe
lol how hard can you pretend to never have been 13

I dont think the problem is the pose when u have a chick whos wearing a leather jacket and butt spandex and the rest have boob armour

astrin_i just wanna play video games and look at butts at the same time, why do people need to have a problem with that
Me, too, but the male butts aren't in spandex...so much disappoint. I'm waiting for the introduction of "penis cleavage" and we can call it even. :P

Shouldn't Blizzard should be concentrating on making their game fun or good

they were playing the odds that the good press would drive more interest in their game
they forgot that gamers are children and get upset at innocuous shit

I hate these fads because they always end up being turned and twisted instantly. The issue people had was a pose being uncharacteristic, and within 24 hours it's suddenly that Blizzard bends to SJW-tier complaints, and later on that they just straight up hate sexualization, which leads to the whole Widowmaker ordeal.
Regardless it's a shitty pose, and as the only cheerful character in the cast, they could easily make a pose that fit her better. Sure, Tracer has probably taken a dick or two, so she's not some innocent maiden, but imagine some generic anime pose on Reaper. Even if it's not sexual it doesn't fit the character.
yttriumuberchain did you make that in SFM
because that's not in the game
He didn't make it. You can bug poses onto different characters also.

Thanks for that post, couldn't agree more. Basically the same thing I was ranting about in that campus employee vs dreadlocks topic. Shit always gets blown out of proportion, original context is lost, debate becomes polarized, and everyone gets thrown into either of 2 imaginary and undefined camps at both extremes of the spectrum. Regardless of how much the most vocal shouters disagree with eachother, they always seem to agree on one thing: fuck nuance.

when you have to create fake controversy to try to feel important your life is a joke
hanzo has the same pose as tracer does so there has been a proposed fix to even the playing field

yep
like, the removal of the pose was dumb and imo it's kind of obvious that blizzard is backpedaling when they say "oh yeah we were gonna get rid of it anyway guys" but it's pretty fucking embarrassing how many kids on /r/overwatch spun some anti-sjw/anti-feminism political spin on this whole thing when it was explicitly just one dude bitching about it and blizzard overreacted. i saw a dude on /r/overwatch claim that we need to fight against the sjws at every turn and use the famous "First they came..." quote by Martin Niemöller to convey his point that gamers need to, like, unite against the sjw menace or some shit
by this point i've learned to stay far the fuck away from anything having to do with gender representation in video games because i will invariably end up livid if i read into it

overwatch is feeling more and more like those "MMORPG" games you always get ads for with huuuuuuge cleavage and bums
So if volvo adds female models with accentuated female characteristics... tf2 esports confirmed
dunno what about you but i bought the booty dlc in tf2 and i have no regrets

saying the pose is sexual is just laughable. and the whole "being out of character" argument is pointless because there were other characters with the same exact pose and are out of their character yet blizzard ignored them and only removed tracer. the only other reason is because "think of the children" which is just as inane...because somehow a game where you're all mercenaries trying to kill each other is fine, but a fully clothed female butt is out of hand...
and the ones against the removal aren't the only ones creating drama, there are numerous articles about it in favor of the removal. i'd also say that people against it are focusing more on blizzard's bullshit response to the removal and what it means for the future of the game than the removal itself.

they aren't reacting to just this single incident though. if you honestly think sjws are harmless and have no influence in the games industry, you're ignorant at best.
hoolijust because something is sexualized doesn't mean it is reduced to merely a sex object
such a low quality argument
"objectification" in a nutshell

heyo thanks for putting words in my mouth, appreciate ya
i will not comment on that specific topic (however it should be very clear to you that i am in agreement that the removal of the pose was stupid so idk why you're so upset with me) but you seriously need to consider how fucking stupid these people look for trying to bring up sjws when this debacle has literally nothing to do with sjws. if kotaku put blizzard on blast for tracer's pose, then okay, go shout "SOCIAL JUSTICE DOES IT AGAIN" at the top of your lungs. but this is literally the product of some shitty parent moaning on blizzard's forums that they aren't thinking of the children (or rather, just his daughter specifically).
the absolute most you or anyone could say to pin this on sjws is claim that blizzard did it for fear that kotaku or polygon or whatever would catch wind of the forum post and put blizzard on blast if they refused to remove the pose, which is a huge fuckin' stretch and the dictionary definition of grasping at straws.
there are cases aplenty to bring up if you want to point out the dangers that sjws post to vidja, ppl should flock to those and not this stupid shit. it literally makes everyone angry at blizzard and sjws look like paranoid schizos who blame everything involving censorship in video games on a boogeyman.

i <3 the conspiracy theorists who think blizzard is lying in their official statement
90% chance they were going to change or remove the taunt anyway because they weren't happy with it yet and it presented a good opportunity to get some positive press and make their development team seem open and community minded

why wouldn't you be critical of a major company's statement that pleases some people and gets some good press, especially with how they made the """"beta""""?

because this conspiracy falls through p hard
why would a multi million dollar company base its art and animation team's actions off of a single thread that received mostly negative feedback? if they weren't already planning to do it they are actually dumb, but it would be quite a tragedy if something that dumb got ok'd by like at LEAST 10 people
