My whole time I spent in tf2 was playing damage classes , but for now I got picked up for a very good team but as a medic (the only class availible) so I wanna learn something about this class
I remember Permzilla say "good medics drop ubers" I guess just dont do that and you will be a good medic!

Something that I posted a while ago in this thread. Check that thread out in general, it has some good advice
SentinelIf it's a stalemate and you're just spamming, heal the flank when they come for heals/buffs (ideally, when they've taken dmg on the flank they'll back up and wait a bit before coming to you so they can have crit heals) and then resume healing the combo. Make sure no one on the combo is being overly aggressive/peeking when you're buffing the flank.
If a player is on the front lines and getting shot, heal him. If someone is just standing behind and not taking any damage and bitching about not getting healed, tell him to stop bitching and wait a few secs.
If your entire team has shitty health you all need to step back, give up some ground and heal up so you don't get wiped
EDIT:concor-Keep all flashes equal between all. Follow your designated combo and give heals to those who need it.
This is bad advice. You should never flash your entire team equally, that just wastes your uber and makes it super short. If you're just going for an uber trade and you want to force the other team, you should focus on a solo uber. Only flash people that need to be flashed and only make the flashes as long as absolutely necessary (while they're being actively shot at - you need to use the uber to block dmg). The idea is to keep your uber active as long as possible so it lasts longer than the other team's uber - that's why, while ubered, your team has to try and shoot the non ubered enemy players and force their med to flash them and waste his uber duration so you guys get a better (as in longer lasting) uber.
EDIT#2:
Some other useful crap - healing isn't just your job. It's the entire team's job to rotate the heals, and not just all come to you at the same time on 1 hp with no crit heals. Tell some of them to get a pack. Also tell them to keep track of when they've last taken dmg so they know if they have crit heals or not. That way they'll know the best time to approach you and ask for heals

There are quite a few resources available on youtube like Marxist's videos, youmustmike (deselectyourmind), and i think shade and nursey have a few vods of their povs uploaded. If you're just starting out it may be more confusing than helpful watching invite/prem povs cause those tests often do set plays and stuff that requires a lot of coordination and teamwork not always present at lower levels.
For me personally what was most helpful was to look at general guide sort of videos like Marxist has and then try to adapt the positioning and holds or uber usage from top level teams to my own team (ie, telling my team in a map review that x team holds here and ford this push lets try that out and see if we can make it work).

if you ever get bored of playing medic cuz you can't frag, just let your teammates die, it's the next best thing! :)
Not one person pointed out the fact playing medic out of necessity is a bad thing?

Some things you'll need to know if you want to main medic.
1. Healing scouts is good because it makes you run fast. Healing any other class is dangerous and you should try to avoid it.
2. The best medics heal primarily with arrows. The medigun is basically an overhealing tool and for reasons stated above, unless it's a fast scoutman avoid wasting time overhealing.
3. Ubersaw is a valuable tool, but the best medics should value survivability and burst DPS over rare ubersaw plays. I would suggest going with the default bonesaw for the extra DPS.
4. Suprise your team once every few mid fights by going kritz without telling anyone until you're ready to pop. It keeps the team on their toes and adds an element of excitement that your team might be lacking.
5. If you die at mid but your team wins, it's advised to switch to the vaccinator since you can build an uber or two for the last push. There are no large concequences to doing this.
6. Lastly remember, if your team is winning, it's because your healing is superb and your decision making is second to none. If you're losing, find teammates who know how to frag, why are yall feeding you idiots.

ask your team (on a hold) whether they want you to milk or pop
ive surfed away way too many times and been told to pop so yeah bear that in mind
never milk below 50hp when there is more than one enemy near, its so easy to get caught up on focusing one of your attackers and the other to sneakily finish you off

1) yes
2) no they dont, u use ur beam because u can still be giving heals to people if you arent looking at them, if u want to buff them, if they have crit heals, they wanna peek a corner with a buff(like a scout or pocket), you are building, or you are going to use an uber through an area. Crossbow is good for building, getting rapid heals, and is good for what differences an amazing medic from an good one. You can also just tell teammates to stand still for arrows if you like arrowing but focus more on calling % ubers, whether it's advantage or disadvantage(by relative %), positioning, movement, where you're going, and who you're healing.
3) if u go for dps as medic ur dumb. 9 times out of 10 you should just kite damage and heal players, unless your entire team is wiped out and you're running for ur life then and only then is it like reasonable to fire arrows as you run or melee if you're caught in a corner with some enemy.
4)stupid dumb kritz doesnt work consistently and use the stock uber to get a better sense of what ur reading, working with pushes, and dealing with pushes
5)vaccinator is only good for if u die and ur holding last with MASSIVE uber disad, because you can get at least 25% with resistance and help hold a last push maybe
6) u are more likely to win if u get as few deaths as possible while keeping as much heals and getting off as much ubers as possible.
some other basic stuff: u wanna have a scout by u and wanna keep your scouts' hp high later on in the midfight
try not to flash everyone on ubers, call who you're ubering on and if you decide to leave on the uber early. dont peek corners, let ur fragging classes do so first.

Balance you not dieing with your team not dieing. Losing your medic is fine so long as you get a positive trade.
Trust your teammates even if you think they are idiots. If they have a good attitude it will be a better learning experience for you both.
HEAL SCOUTS
Medigun is your friend. Don't over flex. If you fuck up a kritz once you probably won't get another chance.
DO NOT RUN AWAY FROM YOUR TEAMMATES TO DODGE DAMAGE UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE.
Don't over milk your ubers. Declare who is going to be involved in the uber and what kind of uber it is (exchange, medic focus ad, huge ad).
Don't be a pussy with your ubers. If the other team lets you take room without forcing then do so.
Always bring a scout in on uber advantage.
Call when you are spawning so your teammates can help you build faster.
Call where you are bringing the heals at the end of a uber
Call if you are bailing on your heal target.
Don't be afraid to tell people to fuck off and grab a health pack.
Decide if you are leaving a fight BEFORE your uber runs out.
HEAL SCOUTS
Demoman counts as 3/5 of a player. Do not leave your medic by himself with the demoman.
It is okay to drop a uber if the payoff for not using is big and the consequences for dropping are small. For example if the other team's med is dead and numbers are otherwise even and you have full add. A roamer bombs you to get a force and there is a 50/50 chance you will surf the rocket and live or the rocket will kill you. If you use the uber you will not be close enough to the enemy team to get anything out of it. In this situation it would be okay to risk dropping as it doesn't leave your team much worse off than if you popped (pretty much even uber's holding 2nd) and the payoff would have been a full uber advantage last push.
