Just want to remind everyone to please be mature and respectful of the hosts and their guests during the show this week while you're in the chat. The last thing this community needs after last week is even more immature behavior in a public setting from anyone involved.

If I were Sal/Cbear I'd see if John can just outright disable the chat for the discussion. I do not trust the community at all with this.

Hire these guys?
Will valve ever make the dead ringing skill based? To add on that will valve ever up the skill level of spy in general?

I volunteer.
BwatWill valve ever make the dead ringing skill based? To add on that will valve ever up the skill level of spy in general?
First off, I don't really see how asking the UGC admins about valve's weapon decisions is relevant. Maybe asking about something more specific, like will UGC ever consider banning the wrangler?
Second of all, absolutely not. Dead ringer is a watch for bad spies. And spy can't really be made more skill-based without ruining the purpose of the class (unless Dead Ringer was banned completely).
This is for Forn - Why is Infinite still an admin? In ETF2L we'd have kicked admins who behaved like him a long time ago.
This one is for Infinite - Why are you such a douche? Were you born a douche or did you acquire your doucheness from years of douchery?
And how does it feel to have had the best opportunity to grow competitive TF2 and create a fantastic community for all skill levels and to fuck it up with condescending arrogance, bad decision making and plain faggotry from particular admins. I hear stories every month about new players not committing to the league because of certain people in the UGC admin team.
a community message for infinite:

Yeah, that's not happening.
What is the UGC League's main objective? Is it to grow all of TF2 or only to grow itself?
How does the league plan on retaining top players, talent, and teams without a substantial prize pot? Do the admins realize that they are only enjoying that kind of success within Highlander because they are currently the only HL league?
Forn: How did you start UGC? What kind of resources does it take to run such a large community? What was competitive scene like, for TF2, when Highlander started gaining popularity? How has UGC changed the competitive scene for other leagues? Would you say that TF2 is more accessible to the people at large? Would you say that Highlander has helped shape competitive TF2 in a more positive light?
Infinite: How long have you and your legion of "fans" had a relationship? What do you think is your toughest challenge when it comes to discussing UGC's policies outside of UGC's forums? Given the feedback you've got these past few seasons, what would you change about UGC and why?
Xarlor: Do you think managing Platinum is different from managing any other league? Division? I manage Steel Blue. My job has very few hiccups. I love getting to help a part of the community but I don't get a lot of team leader feedback. Do Platinum players stay in close touch with you? Do Platinum leaders give you a lot of feedback? How would you like to see your relationship with Platinum leaders? What would you change about it? What can other team leaders do to get more involved?
General questions:
How do you see UGC apart from other leagues?
What do you think you have to offer that other leagues do not?
What do other leagues offer that you do not?
What are your plans for UGC? Any new up-and-coming features you'd like to hype?
What has UGC's growth (playerbase) looked like over the past few years?
Do you see UGC 6s sticking around?
How about Ultiduo? Would you think about holding Ultiduo tournaments every couple months?
Will UGC All-Stars stick around or is it too much work to maintain the event?
How many countries/regions do you manage? Is it tough being a world-wide league?
I'm really looking forward to the cast. Infinite: I hope you facecam and dress up as a clown. That would be fucking hilarious! Makeup, wig, and all.

Oh, I meant to echo this. The UGC staff are all people with jobs who run this league for their love of the game. I know a few of them and they are wonderful people! As long as none of them fall asleep during the cast, I would appreciate it if the audience won't judge any league decisions too harshly without trying to understand their perspective a little bit better. Thanks!
1. What's with the "variety" in maps this season ?
2. Would you ever change the way teams get promoted . if it proves to be flawed when the exceptions aren't accounted for ?
3. Any chance of Beggars Bazooka getting banned?
4. Seeing how gold went this season , was it a good idea looking back or are you thinking about reversing it ?
Thanks for doing a good job.
What are you guys doing to address the very obvious animosity in the community towards HL and the UGC in general? Any doubt of this can be seen by Cold's very great questions being -fragged immediately.
zigzterTheMedicTF2DeservesThere's a difference between thinking something is a joke and bashing it.cefyrinwhy are you always hostile toward top 6s players?A fair amount of top 6s players bash Highlander, so it just seems mutual is how I see it. Why can't we all just get along?
To a person who is taking HL seriously, and trying to improve at it, do you think there is a difference?
Everytime you go out of your way to shit on HL, you create another Infinite.
#82 i take HL somewhat seriously and want to be better at it but there's still a huge difference between treating something as "inferior" in a respectful way and treating something snidely. general 6s treatment of hl is the former. believing anything else is like a persecution complex.

Whether someone knows the difference between the two would be more connected to their intelligence than how seriously they take HL, IMO.
Here's an example of both:
1. "Hey what do you think about HL?"
"I think it's a joke format, I just play it to goof around."
2. "HL is shit and the players who play it are shit and I'm going to make sure they all know it."
If you can't tell the difference between the two, then I don't know what to tell you...
(I'm not claiming either of those examples as personal opinion.)
I lot of people do lay out the reasons why they think HL is inferior very respectfully. But there are also a lot of people very eager to make jokes not just about the format, but about the players.
It felt good to beat a team like mTs, just like it felt good to beat tangerine with b4nny and cyzer playing. But I would be shocked if anyone on bonus got much of an ego from it. We pretty much all understand that if invite players practiced HL anywhere near as much as 6s it would be completely different.
It does bother me a little when some invite players make comments about HL that make the format seem like a complete joke. I could be wrong about this, but it seems like that kind of view sets an example for a lot of other people in the 6s community. Me and some of the people from bonus made an esea open team this season, and I was surprised by how many people tried to troll us or talk shit about us just because we were HL players. I guess shit talk will happen regardless, but I can see why some people who enjoy playing HL would feel ostracized. That's just been my experience in open though.
As far as the original topic goes, if anyone even cares anymore, we have squider playing scout for us this season, and it's been very interesting listening to his perspective in terms of calling and strategy. I wouldn't say it's drastically changed anything in our meta-game, and squider doesn't always make the right calls, but he's definitely been teaching us some things about pushing, advantages, and positioning. I would say the biggest change has been making the game a little more fast paced with more aggressive and coordinated plays, especially more capitalization on small advantages. I think if HL continues like this it will only get better and more organized. And that's why platinum teams like us really wanted the invite limit lifted in the first place.

1. Why isn't RedRum also a guest? He's one of my favorites.
2. How can people contribute, honestly, besides map testing and becoming an admin?
3. Are there any actions of current admins that you don't support?
4. What is your view on the reports and conversations about sexual harassment that are happening in UGC lately?
I actually think it would be beneficial to have a straightforward admin ruling on this, besides deleted posts and quiet player suspensions.

Can you talk us through the thought process behind putting a map like ctf_haunt in the regular season schedule?
Have you thought about making your summer season more serious and adding more incentives to draw the schoolgoing crowd? UGC is most players' entrance into comp, and summer is naturally the time you should see the most players. One would expect that a more serious comp experience, rather than a handful of hit-or-miss "experimental" maps, would attract a larger part of the community.
