Someone remind me why there isn't an ESEA-free division again? I'm not talking about freemium, I mean a division lower than open to invigorate the league with players who are not yet ready to pay to lose. Those are the players in UGC right? Give them the client, maybe they'll even use it to look for scrims and guadge their skill relative to the rest of the league. Would it not make sense from a business standpoint to have a free division without a prize, just to refresh the total player participation in the league? Then when they are already signed up, already familiar with the client, they can decide if they want to pay fees to compete in a more competitive division. Why is this not a thing?

If there was ever a new comp format that should be explored, I would have liked to see 5v5 prolander with a blacklist of weapons (those agreed to be dumb or broken, not just the new or unused) and whitelist for all the rest.
- 5 players to expand potential teams, lessen the cost of LAN travels (if ever a thing), and have a familiarity with CS (due to it's popularity)
- Prolander because we all all know only 4 classes are the most versatile, the 6v6 and current class limits create this "stalemate" we hear talk about. In 5v5 that would probably mean 4 cookie cutter, and 1 wild card with the potential for more class switching depending on the situation and necessity to counter the wild card.
- Blacklist because we know certain unlocks are just broken, overpowered, or bad for a comp match.
- Whitelist because we know certain unlocks are underused, kind of interesting, but banned all the same.
- Same gametype and ruleset as 6v6 because it is a fun gametype with lots of meta potential.
One of you must to do this.
I wouldnt put all this negativity on Shooter. I think it is nice at least we were informed what might happen, before it happens. I want to believe that since there will not be an extension to registration, the team has decided to impose a completely nonsensical and idiotic advanced deadline to spurn players into action. Then when that sudden, new, and moronic deadline passes, there will still be the original deadline extended past this new dumb and bogus one. It is an act of kindness really. Thank you, ESEA. I never handed in my papers on time unless my professors created artificial threatening deadlines whereby the paper wasn't due, persay, just anything handed in after or indeed in line with the original deadline might or might not be considered failing. And because the league seems to have forgot, happy holidays everyone.
hmmm well that is kind of awesome and terrifying. The sniper in TFC had a clean scope (no black) however in TF2 that might give a large advantage for grabbing close headshots. I'm certainly not complaining, I'm going to check that out right now, but I don't think it will have a long shelf life.
HOWEVER...
>this HUD gives the sniper no black
>the TFC rifle had no black
>the Classic is the TFC rifle
>this HUD is in TF2
>Valve will release an update to fix this HUD
>The Classic is a sniper in TF2
>Valve will release an update to fix the Classic
confirmed, thanks
I think they should both be legal. The quickie bomb launcher has an immediate disadvantage without a broken advantage that would cause problems, while the iron bomber is a sidegrade also lacking anything broken.
Prognosis: Don't worry, and make it legal.
Wait so two things I'm not clear on.
1) Does it remove the black around the sniper scope?
2) Do this and/or the clean textures really work on sv_pure 2?
If it doesnt pan out I say we create a Classic only sniper league. If we combine forces, there's no way VALVE could ignore us. They'll have to buff it, they'll just have to, I know it in my heart.
What exactly is the fraud/scam this is trying to prevent? Or do you think it is just a saftey measure in general?
TwiggyPAPASTAINIdk, to me that's not that big of a deal compared to clutch ubersaw slices :pTwiggyMy tryhard avice regarding a usable lineup :nah dude, if you're allowed the vita saw you damn well better use that disruption of one of the most important mechanics of TF2 with some pride
- Medic (xbow/quickfix/ubersaw)
Don't forget how awesome the solemn vow is for intel either.
From the pool of unlocks I sort of know, the best loadouts for the cookie cutter classes (imo) are as follows (i wont attempt to know the actual names):
Scout: scatter, bonk, triple jump bat
Scout 2: super speed gun, cleaver, sandman
Pocket: liberty launcher, shotgun or the backpack that makes you take less damage, whip
Roamer: default or liberty launcher, gunboats or parachute, whip
Demo: stock, maybe switch the pipe launcher out for the loch n load
Medic: crossbow, quick-fix, solemn vow or vita saw
As an additional experiment, I'd be interested to see an exhibition restricting players to the 4 cookie cutter classes but unrestricting unlock use. That might better exemplify what would actually happen in "valves game" at the competitive level given that these 4 are still the most versatile/necessary in a comp situation. It might also alleviate the possibility that we see players playing the yolo classes just because it will in truth be the one time they can actually get away with doing so. Not that the off classes aren't part of the game, but just that the temptation to mess around with them might win over the experimental mission and purpose.
RadmanBloodSire hates australians. Thats why robin refuses to work on tf2.
Guys, I love Australians. Half of what I listen to on my iphone are lectures from La Trobe University. Sniper is my fav class. Fosters is my favori...okay maybe not. But I love Australia. New Zealand is better because they filmed LOTR and The Hobbit there but I hear Australia is like pretty close so they're basically New Zealanders, and I think that's cool.
:D
However the rank "Australian" sounds wrong for highest rank. "Australium" with an M might work as an upper rank if you go the precious metal and rare stone route, but I think straight up "Australian" doesn't work. I'm not disputing that Australians aren't the globally elite. Just that Global Elite should not equate to Autralian in TF2.
Sorry, Robin
Thanks for all the tips. 970 is looking strong.
Thanks, I updated the i5 info. Sorry to say, rock, but I have no idea how to figure the rails info. Hardware is something I've always been oblivious about, for the most part.
The 970 looks enticing.
