This is just my opinion. If Setsul contradicts me, I'd probably listen to him.
#298: That seems expensive for what CPU/GPU you're getting.
If you're only playing TF2, an i5 would probably be the best balance of performance and cost.
A mechanical keyboard isn't necessary, but it is nice. Unless you absolutely can't play on a rubber done, I would just get a cheap $10 keyboard for now, get a better CPU, and save up.
Motherboard seems like it could be a little cheaper.
Any reason for the wireless adapter? You should really use ethernet where possible.
Christmas 2010, voted for 2011 because I essentially started playing in 2011.
ulmyxxAcer has input lag right?
The 120Hz one did. According to this test, the 144Hz one has the lowest response times, but has other problems.
Thanks for the responses! :D#2 That's so expensive though, even in USD :< I was considering a sub-$100 desk from IKEA though, but apparently it can't support much weight. I see the one you linked has a cupholder, which could be useful. Probably not worth the extra money though.
#3: This sounds like a good idea, I could make it match the rest of my bedroom furniture. My desk is bright tan wood while the rest is brown or black cherry.
#4: I don't feel that confident in eBay tbh, but I'll consider it.
#5: Folding tables are that much? Seriously? I always thought they were all under $50.
#6: Seems a little expensive, but looks nice. I'd probably get the one with drawers though.
#7: I feel like that stand would not be balanced with my monitors. Desk seems nice but a little too fancy.
#8/#9: Yeah, the door is cheap, but filing cabinets are expensive for some reason. Makes no sense, especially if they're literally just wood/metal drawers.
flamelook man, i dont rly care, like ive never spoken to the guy, i just see him posting nonsense and telling kids to go kill themselves on the esea forum and posting the most ridiculously ignorant shit on this site like "i dont care what you think" or just overly sarcastic bullshit.
Reputation is everything in gaming, everyone has their titles, their personas, their personalities.
Mine being confused with someone who literally ruins every conversation he is involved in or goes over the top with his ignorance is not someone i want to be 'mistaken' for.
This isnt about whether he likes his name or what, it's a matter of we had a bet going, he got to gxl, literally hid in a corner the entire time, didn't really care, gxl was busy as fuck and I was too busy enjoying myself and all the people i got to meet to really care.
I changed my name to LAN_CHAMPION and joined the MGE server, so this little shit decides to make his name THE_REAL_LAN_CHAMPION and 1v1 me in MGE. If that's not a callout Idk what is. I shit on him, he ragequit, we had a bet. end of story.
Thank you for your taking the time to read this.
I'll be back for more storytelling in the morning with Tales From GXL Part 2:Drunk Sezco #followsezco
Not saying you shouldn't have the name, but people are going to think you're dflame regardless of what he changes his name to. You might be better off changing your own name.
Luckily for hooli, I've only heard of people mistaking me for him once. I like to think that I don't even have a reputation here aside from being a shitposter so I would think it wouldn't be a big deal. If he would like me to change my name then I guess I may be able to find a way to do it, but I've used this name so long that I don't know what else I'd use. Besides, it's at least clear to me that I'm not trying to look like I'm hooli.
Shooshhooky If Overwatch takes off (not saying it will), then Valve may have to bring out some sort of matchmaking with smaller teams just to keep the game going.Maple I'd be pissed if after 17 seasons of ESEA alone, 3 community funded international LANs, and 7 years of 6's
People aren't just gonna stop playing this game because another one that comes out that looks similar to TF2 "takes off"
We won't, but casual players might. Especially if Overwatch happens to be F2P. The competitive community cannot support the game on its own in its current state.
Traders might somehow keep this game going even when player numbers are decreasing, though.
Frostfireeven if competitive matchmaking does come to tf2, im 99% sure 6v6 wont be recognized or supported for at least another year after the system makes its first debut, considers ourselves lucky if its HL.
Id put my money on some new format that valve sees fit for comp tf2 revolving around item bans, for all we know it could be competitive pubs 12v12 lol
HL is at least already built into the game. We don't play it with mp_highlander enabled (class switching and such), but the command is there.
Valve could launch HL MM first and refine the system until just before Overwatch's release, and then they release 6v6 MM. I don't have much hope for them supporting us after this long, though I highly doubt they would even attempt 12v12 matchmaking. If Valve has any intention of promoting TF2 as a competitive game, the player count needs to be 10 or 12 ideally. HL might be able to work with effort, but 12v12... I don't see a way of making that competitive. MM for that would be the exact same as pubs.
dflamecefyrinGetawhaleTeam Fortress 2 is the game that we play. These are two classes from that game. Like it or not.
Those two classes aren't competitive.
they are in HL and didn't someone say that if valve were to release a competitive matchmaking system that it would be focused around HL?
If Overwatch takes off (not saying it will), then Valve may have to bring out some sort of matchmaking with smaller teams just to keep the game going.
...does this mean I need a name change as well
I currently have a desk that only has room for one monitor due to some shelving; I use a speaker for my secondary monitor. I would like to have them at the same level, so I'd like a new desk.
Any suggestions? I'd like to have one with drawers.

ddrsensationI'm a first year student taking Intro to Java right now. Happy that c# can now progress to multi-platform but kind of frustrated that I won't see much use out of Java. At least I'm still learning fundamentals. :P
To be honest, programming is less about specific languages and more about knowing the fundamentals so you can more easily pick up new languages.
Glad we have another option for programming though. Wonder what it means for my next semester... we're supposed to use 4 different languages next semester including Java. Most likely they'll keep it how it was originally supposed to be, but it would be interesting if they replaced Java with or just added C#.
How different is C# to C++? Can C++ also be replaced by C#?
fathomMoved into an apartment, so I had to downsize. I definitely need to mount that ethernet cable :x

What desk is that?
my old and gross hud is in there :<
This could be useful for deciding what HUD to use.
