They say, there are no two games on Earth exactly the same. No two, no two sets of fingerprints. But do they know that for sure? Cause they would have to get every video game in one huge space and obviously that's impossible, even with computers. Not only that, they would have to get all the games that ever existed, not just the ones now. So they got no proof. They got nothin'. Overwatch may have passed but who is to say there isn't another MOBA game just like it? Or will be? Maybe not with the same fears and paranoia, but... the same. Uhm, what I am saying is....................................................................

comp people hate it because they think it's the main reason why they can't make a living out of playing this game and how it caused the infamous ow exodus
casuals hate it because it influenced valve into adding casual/comp mm which naturally got rid of quickplay and accesing valve servers through the server browser
everyone combined hates them because they're competing with daddy valve and how dare your corporation challenge my favorite corporation
i hate it because, if we are ignoring how vile actbliz is, they have yet to make a good game in the last 12 to 20 years (depending who you ask)

i don't like the 3d animal mascot movie artstyle, the focus grouped character designs, the quirky reddit bait personalities, its part in the mobafication of gaming, the enormous viewmodels, the lame movement abilities, and the fact that it could be so cool if it wasn't designed to be a console game too. it even has mei and now kiriko but i still don't wanna play it!

TF2 people hate Overwatch because it's a worse team shooter (look and play), and because it was much more popular because of advertisement and Blizzard shoveling money down the corpse of it's comp scene (which is also much worse than TF2s).

if ow was actually a good game I wouldnt hate it but the only reason people play it is because they keep shoveling massive amounts of money into their anime titty, noob friendly, simplified and watered down first person moba disguised as a tf2 clone. I'm pretty sure its the consensus that a lot of OW pros fucking hated the game but knew they could make money doing it.
the genre of games being colloquially called "hero shooters" instead of "class shooters" kind of disgusts me too
if you could use air momentum to strafe in OW instead of just starting to float in whatever direction key you press automatically, it would make it immediately 100% more skill based
i dont even necessarily think OW is that bad of a game, it's all of the context surrounding it
edit: at least OW2 gives players way more individual impact and less focus on spamming shields
