We care very much. Because of the emotional complexity of situation like this, it makes sense why--whatever the result--there's persisting issues and frustrations. It can be mentally taxing, and I'm grateful for those that can do it level-headed. We're doing our best to look into it and make good decisions.

It's a very unfortunate double-edged sword that since so much of the Alfa stuff was (attempted) to be kept under wraps, a ton of people just don't know what he did, so they choose to not care when they see invite players playing with/against him. Despite this, I still think it is better to leave the specifics of what happened quiet because having it all super well-known is just a shitty situation to everyone else involved.

This is all in contrast to nursey for example, where what they did was very public and they are completely separated from at least the comp community, with threads popping up if they even touch the game in comp. Ik it's not quite as nice as that cuz there's still weird stuff where people get mentored by him and still have him added etc.

It sucks that people just think "oh well idk what he did so it can't be that serious" even though what alfa did was arguably much worse. Would love to see rgl take some action against the people that just continue to play with him, esp when they're streaming it and stuff. Alfa not being completely rejected from the community by this point is nothing short of disappointing.

Suggesting RGL should extend their authority from their league to policing the entire TF2 competitive community by creating new rules that retroactively gives them authority to ban people in the off-season is just not the solution.

The rules exist and there is precedence for them being used. People get banned in the offseason and people get banned for playing with permabanned players (the rule explicitly includes pugscrims). Off the top of my head I don't know of any specific case of someone getting banned in the offseason for playing with a permabanned player but I also fail to see a reason that that wouldn't be within the rights of RGL as a sanctioning body.

Regardless of the actual rule lawyering though, even just bending the rules to play with your rapist friend seems like a pretty fucking stupid move if you ask me. extremely disappointed in the top level of the scene right now.

Yes too clinical, but more so though it comes off as a bit too, assuming per say of your understanding of zheep's identity and the situation in question; and is also a bit offensive.

But also: trying to tie the usage of a slur to one's identity upsets other people; and can kinda comes off as an attempted justification of it, rather than a well intended explanation. and regardless, it's not really something that one
would necessarily want to try and justify using what you think as a baseline.

Simply put, It's a battle that the person using the slur/term in question should have to answer for, if others are judging them. You're not really gonna win that fight for them, and you're just going to open yourself up to judgement regardless of what your intent is. Morally speaking it's probably for the best that they have to deal with it, and not you.

Also the phrasing and way the post was structured is very memeable and seeing how others use your post as a template can kinda be an indication of what upsets them or what makes it easy to mock; by looking at the core of what followup posts are based on.
IE : "the context of the post (speaking strangely about black people)", somewhat indicates how it's received, and with that wording you can look back at your own post and see what could be interpreted that way by comparing.

Best thing you can do is just learn from it and not to try to further explain it here tbh, sucks but it's a good learning opportunity.
