I realized this after I made that post but I don't think sourcemod weapon changes are a good idea anymore. While I do think that lowering sniper's fire-rate, removing wrap assassin headshots, changing damage ramp-up (medics arrows) and adding pipe falloff would make the competitive game better, changes to classes/weapons for 6s will only further the gap between competitive play and casual. Additionally, it could becomes a slippery slope for unbanning inherently unfun weapons or result in valve definitively stops balancing for 6s.

valve hasnt made any balance changes in 6 years lol im sure the scene will be fine

I hate seeing this argument because it implies we are still somehow in an era where the larger part of valve as a company wants to support competitive tf2. It tried, and it failed. This talking point now exists in this weird limbo where people are pretending that Valve wanna see the game be competitive anymore. Everything we thought was coming didn't come and now we are again left in the dark. Fuck it. Make a pro-mod, it'll probably be more effective in garnering support and people to play then valve could do at this point.
And in the future if they do decide to come back we will have something to point at and go "LIKE THAT" and hopefully they won't fuck it up like they did the first couple times.

its actually the exact opposite and the game never getting balanced again makes a community promod argument a bit stronger

it only makes it stronger if u think we are in a bad place rn. the only things that are in a bad place(s) are unlocks, most of which r built on donkey shit foundation and dont add anything, its far better and easier to just ban them than to rebalance them

idk how sourcemod stuff works, if someone made a balance mod could i just join a scrim server on a fresh install and shit would work better than in default tf2? if so why arent we doing anything with that?

I don't know how anyone who thinks for a second that LnL & MG are deserving to be banned are not completely embarrassed to have that opinion. Watching people play invite these last 2 years is like watching the game actively devolve because of the lack of critical thinking skills anyone wants to put into any of their gameplay.
If you go off of an unlocks potential, then you should ban the direct hit and force of nature as well. Those weapons, theoretically, are straight upgrades over stock if you never miss. The Sniper class literally accomplishes everything people complain with these weapons but 100x better.
It is literally impossible to ban things based on what is fun and not fun because it is beyond subjective. People enjoy using the market gardener, and people hate playing against the crossbow, etc. You open a rabbit hole of bans that becomes purely wishy-washy.
Bans should only be made based on if a better team loses because they didn't run the unlock, and it is an absolute necessity to run. EVEN THEN you can't use this as a basis for bans, because then you would need to ban the crossbow & the gunboats.
What valve thinks is not considered in the conversation at all for weapon bans, and hopefully the people who are giant crybabies about unlocks that are borderline meaningless will gain some self-awareness and just actually get a spec of skill at the game and get over themselves.
Derail the thread about me or w/e, I want nothing more than TF2 to grow and it's beyond aggravating that over a decade later we still see the same stupid aggravating argument because people refuse to learn how to play tf2 and want to bitch n moan about the stupidest shit.

NURBEY I want nothing more than TF2 to grow.
The best way to do this that's in your power is for you to completely detach yourself from the game

NURBEYI don't know how anyone who thinks for a second that LnL & MG are deserving to be banned are not completely embarrassed to have that opinion. Watching people play invite these last 2 years is like watching the game actively devolve because of the lack of critical thinking skills anyone wants to put into any of their gameplay.

What about the lack of critical thinking skills you put into grooming minors a few years ago

NGL might be 900 iq play to derail the thread though, usually b4nny deploys a schizo to do so but the pedophile gambit is one step up

if ur actually remorseful for anything and hold any sort of responsibility you would stay away from the forum that exposed you and got you banned in the first place. Normal people don't get shunned and ousted from a community for being a groomer and then try to crawl back for over 3 years u weirdo go away and don't come back.
I dare u or ur dick riders (probably minors anyways) to respond.

more than it being unbalanced and over simplifying demo, it just makes a lot of maps uninteractive. The worst mechanics in any game are ones that make your decisions feel useless. Its the same reason why airblast and sniper are so frustrating, there is no direct counterplay and it rewards a boring, unfun to play and unfun to watch playstyle

There are two conversations that need to happen, one for 6s and one for HL. I dont have much say on 6s but HL I wanna say that two piping a level 3 sentry from across the map shouldn't be a thing. Spamming LnL on HL koth is becoming a very stale meta, look at the most recent grand finals for evidence.
HL loch might just be a side-grade, but its a side-grade that can slow the pacing of a format with already pretty slow pacing.
