I was thinking of making my own video like this but I've stopped spectating for a long time, so I'm not familiar with a chunk of the people who appeared after I stopped playing 6s. Someone would have to clue me in on some interesting stories. The biggest story I'm aware of as of lately is Odin potentially reaching prem with full demoknight, with the questions being "is he cheating?" "should it be banned?"

The best idea I had was to talk about the infamous "europeean" incident and how thalash beat b4nny afterwards and how it was probably the most hilarious thing to happen in this game's entire history (I doubt b4nny would be impressed with me, though)

I'm also working on a vid about my own 6s season in div4 which tries to capture the "essence" of starting a team, finding new people and having laughs while sometimes entering "serious mode" whenever it's needed. hoping it doesn't result in a swarm of demoknights ruining etf2l

i know fireside dabbled in similar territory but it's kinda hard to tell a story across multiple seasons since teams change all the time and seasons tend to be more discrete compared to jump, for example
maybe the best recent "story" i can think of for 6s is witness' upset win in season 6

that being said, people keep saying that tf2 just needs a "smash documentary" and itll be an esport but after seeing a handful of (relatively popular) attempts at it, im not convinced. i think a compelling story should just be that, and the weight of "saving the game" or just an intention of making 6s more popular tend to make these videos worse. especially since it's not even necessary because 6s is a compelling and interesting format even for the layman of it's explained properly

I don't think a fall of constantinople type documentary would help grow the scene as much as consistent videos from invite players that have actual personality and editing to them. There's a reason why videos from jay and arekk do much better and have a greater appeal to noncompetitive players than the near endless 10-20 minute shadowplays

Edited the Firesidecasts documentaries, it isn't a bad thought with the thought of the community behind it and NOT to help it be an Esport. I know joining with Fireside I thought if we had more stories besides b4nny then we can get somewhere and people will be more interested in the scene, which did work to a degree. When people found out ROME ( https://youtu.be/bs0wrRWYm0U?si=xOILJmH9z-2odoG0 ) broke up it was an instant turn off to a lot of people, before that they were excited and we had more views on our stream on a low invite team than most because they knew the story behind it thus got invested. The highlander one ( https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSw7XtwkU5aQH81veh2Y_nJgsencBXmpj&si=3Bd5DHAn7rVbmqqb ) inspired people but it's tough to get 9 people including you to join a league unless you have all the time in the world so ultimately a turn off as well.

I'm more hoping our recap series will be more helpful to connect the scene and also get people interested in the scene as well since the history of the players and stuff going on in the scene is right there and who ever watches it can go "who is this "Yight" guy and why is he so important when he left the B4nny team Froyotech?" and also "B.A.S.E JUMPER IS UNBANNED?!?" etc.

I always appreciate Siyo for his work, without him I'd probably be pumping out bad inconsistent videos with no connection with players and staff members and all so thank him for most of the leg work.

Was planning on doing a longer video documenting everything relating to scrap.tf starting with geel's poorly received advertisements for the site on 4chan and the classic footrest incident shenanigans and going all the way through the semi-recent joking allegations leading to actual victims coming out against the pedo grooming echochamber the scrap.tf staff had actually been doing as well as the lackluster damage control afterwards. Been putting it off because it was always a funny topic to me, but the recent developments have warranted a much more serious tone and I think I have to reconsider my entire approach to the subject.

I have a friend that explained that the pass time pug server got a huge influx of players because of the videos that Htwo made on the gamemode. It would be interesting to see what a SolarLight 6s video could bring to the scene, seeing as your audience is quite large

I don't think this will "revive" 6s. I think at best, it will fight against the negative stereotypes that pub players have developed from watching (but not actually playing) 6s. Or from hearing someone else who has also never played 6s, talk about 6s.

Who knows though. Maybe some uncletopia players will watch it, they'll find the team banter hilarious, and then they'll want to try 6s as one of the meta classes
