imo, nerf current pyro down completely. i don't know why it's so hard for people to see the practical usage of pyro in this game (literally, a class for people completely new to FPS games/TF2 to still be able to do decently well). it isn't meant to be viable.

they should probably increase the range of the flamethrower and decrease the damage so its like a plasma/lg hybrid
i think the detonator is fine since it gives the pyro a little mobility (not sure why people choose the scorch shot over it)
that being said, pyro still kinda sucks as is and i'd be willing to wager full time sniper is more viable than pyro in top level gameplay

i posted about this before but another big issue is that pyro actually fucks lower level teams/uncoordinated settings, and sure you can ban the class from pugs but it's gonna be pretty detrimental overall to people getting into comp tf2 if they can't deal with aids pyro because their hitscan players don't meet the minimum aim threshold required. doesn't really impact top level much like botmode stated but for a scene as small as ours things should be balanced in a manner that is at least not completely unfun and unrewarding to play against even at lower levels of comp play imo

I don't think this is an overall solution, but maybe taking the pyros health from 175 down to 150 or even 135 would make a slight difference? And reducing the range of the flame thrower by a significant amount would mean that the pyro has to get closer to people so they can't WM1 at people as easily either.

If you get caught off guard for even a second as scout by a pyro you are just insta dead unless you perfectly meatshot him twice for max damage at max firerate
Before you could maybe jump over a pyros head and have some outplay factor
now if you get caught next to him you are pretty much guaranteed to die regardless of the pyros skill level

Why has no one complained about the annoying little stun thing that makes your crosshair flick upwards when you’re burning. A detonator/flare from across the map can disable a sniper for like 10 seconds. Just the idea of retardedly high damage per sec AND the ability to pressure a sniper from a safe distance than a soldier ever could is pretty frustrating.
